Ensuring supply, stabilizing drug prices for Covid-19 prevention and control

In order to ensure demand for drugs to prevent, control Covid-19 epidemic and treat other diseases as well as stabilizing drug prices and domestic drug market, provincial Department of Health (DoH) has just sent a document requesting provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP), medical facilities and drug trading enterprises in the province to urgently set up and implement drugs stockpiling plans to ensure that they are ready to supply enough drugs, and absolutely not to let the shortage of drugs for public healthcare happen.

Provincial CDCP needs to attach special importance to ensuring the supply of essential drugs for treating Covid-19 patients. Hospitals and drugs-trading enterprises in the province have fully implemented their drugs stockpiling plans and strictly followed the State's regulations on drug price management; must not take advantage of Covid-19 pandemic to speculate, hoard goods and push up drug prices.

Provincial DoH has also required relevant units to actively advise provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control on tasks to ensure drug supply, especially in isolation and blockade areas not to affect the local drug supply activities. Hospitals, medical centers and businesses in the province need to recheck their capacity to store, transport and receive Covid-19 vaccines for the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign…

For drugs manufacturing and importing establishments, provincial DoH has asked for them to strictly follow the direction of the Drug Administration of Vietnam on ensuring the supply of drugs under the contracts signed with medical facilities; ensure the storage of drugs and medicinal ingredients, maintain their distribution systems, thoroughly implement measures against the pandemic approved by the Ministry of Health. In addition, setting up scenarios that concretize measures against the pandemic to minimize the spread of the pandemic at factories and offices, ensuring safety for workers...is also very necessary.
