The strategy to accelerate vaccination against Covid-19 is being vigorously implemented by the province. Within 3 days, more than 300,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered to priority groups, including local people, residents, workers working at enterprises implementing the "3 on-site" production model. Along with ensuring requirements on progress, the local units also ensured safety for Covid-19 prevention and control in the organization of vaccination against Covid-19.
Vaccination given priority to enterprises under “3 on-site” production model
Nguyen Thanh Trung, Deputy Head of provincial Industrial Parks ‘Management Board said that under the instruction of provincial Party Committee and People's Committee on a plan to speed up vaccination against Covid-19 for local people and workers at enterprises operating under the "3 on-site" production model, the Management Board has cooperated with investor of the local IPs and provincial Center for Disease Control to urgently organize vaccination for workers working at factories in the local Ips. In this vaccination stage, 1,182 enterprises in the local IPs have registered to vaccinate 130,540 workers. As of August 8 afternoon, vaccination work in the local Ips still took place very urgently to achieve the target of 100,000 doses of vaccine per day as required by the province.

According to the evaluation of the units, the province’s previous vaccination had many problems, due to the lack of human resources. However, after provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, specifically provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control requested localities and relevant units to mobilize more human resources from students, teachers for data entry, even mobilize more private medical staff to join in supporting the province’s plan to accelerate the injection of all the allocated vaccines by August 10, the progress of vaccination at localities, units has got faster. The local Ips, businesses and units have been very proactive to share and support vaccination forces.
“Over the past few days, coordination between localities and units in the organization of vaccination took place smoothly with the spirit of urgently implementing in terms of progress, but ensuring safety. Workers in the local Ips are very happy to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Provincial Industrial Parks’ Management Board is currently accelerating the progress of vaccination, joining hands with the province in achieving the target of 100,000 doses of vaccine each day, completing the injection for enterprises as planned," said Mr.Trung.
Vaccination for all people
Along with speeding up vaccination against Covid-19, provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has asked for localities, units and organizations to pay attention to ensuring security-order and safety at injection sites. In the 6th vaccination stage, the province has been allocated more than 400,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. They are distributed to 9 districts, towns and cities and other units to inject people in high-risk areas. However, as noted by reporters, over the past few days, many people gathered at injection sites for request to be injected, due to the lack of information on targeted group for this vaccination.
Talking to reporters, Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that vaccination against Covid-19 was identified by the province as a very important solution in pandemic prevention and control. The viewpoint as well as the policy of provincial leaders is to vaccinate 100% of people in all the targeted groups. However, the province's population at present is over 2.5 million people while the amount of vaccines supplied is not much. Specifically, up to now, the province has only received about 500,000 doses of vaccines allocated from the Ministry of Health, so the province has mainly focused on injecting those at the high risk of infection to enhance the local results in pandemic prevention and control.
“The province wants people in the low-risk group to stay calm. The province will try by all ways from further proposing the government to provide more vaccine sources to buying enough vaccines to inject people with the local State budget if being allowed. Initially, if there are not enough vaccine sources to fully inject 2 doses, each citizen will be injected at least 1 dose ", said Mr. Loc. Also according to him, right after provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control implemented the plan to "accelerate" Covid-19 vaccination, more than 300,000 doses were administered to priority subjects within 3 days.
Tran Sy Nam, Vice-Chairman of Thu Dau Mot city’s People's Committee, Deputy Head of the city’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said that under the Covid-19 vaccination plan for priority groups from the guidance of provincial Department of Health, the city has allocated 32,000 doses of vaccine to its wards to organize injection in accordance to instructions. “The city has also strengthened propaganda so that people can grasp information about high-risk groups that will be given priority to be vaccinated first and low-risk groups that will also be vaccinated when the city is allocated vaccines for next injections. The city has thoroughly grasped the issues while requesting localities to strengthen propaganda among people ", said Mr. Nam.
