In two years of implementation and announcement of Binh Duong Green Book, domestic and foreign enterprises have paid much attention to the measurements of responsibility, information dissemination and image broadcasting of the enterprises.
Practical benefits
Following up the success of Green Book 2011, in 2012 Binh Duong Green Book was announced to record, appraise, and broadcast images of good environment protection activities in enterprises. According to local Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the investigation and survey of observation of environment protection law of Vietnam and environment protection regulations at 122 enterprises showed that 47 enterprises including 10 domestic and 37 foreign enterprises have well implemented the environment protection at green level. Of the named enterprises, 27 enterprises listed in Green Book 2011 reappeared in Green Book 2012. Besides, the listed enterprises have expanded to more production and business lines of cosmetics, foods, and medicines. By the announcement, the enterprises of good environment protection shall be praised by Provincial People’s Committee and highly appreciated by the communities; thereon, their prestige shall be affirmed and known in the communities.

Vo Thi Ngoc Hanh, the Deputy Director of Binh Duong Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment informed of additional 15 enterprises listed in the Green Book, 5 enterprises have gained 100 marks by the ranking. When listed in the Green Book 2012, brand-names and information of the enterprises shall be wider introduced. Moreover, the Green Book shall help enterprise well integrate into the world commercial market. So as to join foreign market and cooperation, the enterprises must overcome the technical barriers, of which, environment protection is prominently required. Thus, being listed in Green Book is the safest step for an enterprise to affirm its brand-name in the market and towards the consumers.
Enterprise satisfaction
By the view of enterprises, Binh Duong Green Book is valuable. To be named in the book, Mao Zhi Gang, the General Director of Esquel Garment Manufacturing Vietnam Co. Ltd. informed of the integration of environment into production line with great efforts.
Esquel Garment has been since 2006 integrated with ISO 14001-2004 after its incorporation in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park since 2001 with over 4,000 workers. After expanding to 10,000 square meters of buildings and factories of energy efficiency and environment protection.
“To maintain the achievements, we shall keep on promoting economic development in integration into the targets of the Green Book,” he said.
Similarly, Dong An Branch of Dien Quang Lightbulb JSC, Kumho Tire Vietnam Co. Ltd., Yazaki Eds Co. Ltd., Kirin Beverage Vietnam Co. Ltd., and Roussel Vietnam have all scored 100 mark points. Le Xuan Nghiem, the Director of Dong An Branch of Dien Quang Lightbulb JSC asserted the significance of Binh Duong Green Book in contributing into encouragement and call for social subjects to care for environment protection, improving competition and prestige of the enterprises.
Evaluating the Green Book, Deputy Chair Tran Van Nam of Provincial People’s Committee praised the efforts of enterprises in promoting and maintaining the achievements with more promotion of social community obligation for the success of preventing and improving environment quality of the province. He called for enhanced information dissemination of the ranking to uphold the environment protection.
