Labor safety and health (LSH) is an important task, ensuring the productivity of workers. Therefore, businesses have paid special attention to this work to protect employees and bring the best business results.

Various forms of implementation
KoLon Industries is a company with 100% Korean investment capital, specializing in manufacturing high-tech products (such as automobile fiber, automotive air bag, film for electrical industry, electronics ...). In recent years, the company has paid special attention to ensuring labor safety so that their employees feel comfortable in working. Employees of the company were trained in LSH and complied with rules of wearing labor protection equipment including clothes, hats and cones. Some workshops were also equipped with active masks and anti-noise buttons. The guideline of the company is to ensure maximum safety for employees.
In addition, the company has actively put personal medicine cabinets in each workshop to facilitate the care of sick or unexpected risks. Ho Loi Minh Linh, Chairman of Trade Union of KoLon Industries Limited said: "The company's labor protection work received much attention by annual first-aid training for employees, and arranging a team trained by health professionals and is able to respond quickly, and even do the purchase of 24-hour insurance for all employees in the company."
Most machines in the company are automatic, employees only control with less manual task; therefore, ensuring safety when employees operating machines also concerned the company. At present, all machines and equipment in the company are safe for employees to work unworriedly. Owing to the full equipment of machines as well as knowledge of labor protection, in recent years the company has not had any labor accidents.
Similarly, Nitto Denko Viet Nam Company (Thuan An Town) actively launched "Green - Clean - Beautiful, LSH" movement and organized the registration. Do Quang Trung, Trade Union Chairman of the company, said: "From the beginning of the year, the company's trade union collaborated with specialized departments to launch the movement" Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring LSH". Tasks of the movement were divided from month to month and assigned to each department. Departments also carried out periodical rehearsals, problem handling, fire and explosion prevention, actively improved the working environment; handled areas with high risks, LSH violations and organized the response to LSH’s month.
In addition to the implementation plan, the company’s Trade Union also focused on propaganda and supervision of labor protection regimes, such as: Equipping adequate personal protection means for employees; 100% employees were provided with periodical medical examinations and treatment.
Taking the initiative
Grassroots trade unions and enterprises in the province performed well the labor protection plan. Ninh Xuan Hien, Chairman of Di An Town Labor Federation said: "At the beginning of the year, trade union at all levels in the town actively planned, performed OSH, fire prevention tasks. Trade unions were successful in incorporating this content into collective bargaining agreement. Therefore, workers are equipped with personal protection tools; receive allowances for heavy and hazardous works and periodical health examination. Especially, the labor protection plan was built by trade unions since the beginning of the year with 5 main contents aiming at the absolute safety for employees, such as safety technique, fire and explosion prevention; labor sanitation, improvement of working conditions; personal protective equipment; health care, prevention of occupational diseases, and propaganda, education and training on labor protection ".
The "Green - Clean - Beautiful, Ensuring LSH" movement is developing by trade unions, employers and employees. This year, with the theme "To actively prevent and control dangerous and harmful factors in the workplace to limit occupational accidents and diseases", action month on LSH has been enhanced by trade unions, businesses; Maintaining the movement "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring LSH"; building exemplary models of ensuring safety, occupational accident and disease prevention, and working conditions improvement. New points of the movement were integrated into the movement of building agencies, units and enterprises meeting cultural standards, thus being diverse and abundant in content and form.
At present, the province has over 1,300 labor protection councils, over 1,800 grassroots trade unions have safety network with more than 9,000 members; concentrate in state enterprises, FDI enterprises with large production scale. At enterprises, the movement was carried out by improving the quality of labor protection, building plans to ensure LSH, encouraged members and employees to make initiatives for safety assurance, skill improvement.
