Late December 6, the steering board of environment protection in Thuan An Town held a conference to approve environment protection results in 2015 while planning for environment protection in 2016.
By the analytic data of 4 stages in 2015, it has been visible that environment quality of water, environment air, and bed mud in Thuan An Town has dramatically been improved. By measurement at 15 locations of all springs in the town, heavy pollution has been detected in 6 locations of surface water, requiring treatments. Based on surveillance of air in 10 locations of residence and industrial parks, 5 locations are of good environment while the location of An Phu crossway has been in bad environment due to traffic density. In the year, Thuan An Town has organized inspection drives against 200 cases; of which, 53 cases of breaching Law on Environment Protection have been fined VND 965 million. To improve awareness of environment protection, all-level departments have issued 40,000 leaflets and organized 342 sessions of Law on Environment Protection dissemination among various environment protection drives. Besides, the town has multiplied self-managing teams of environment protection across quarters and hamlets with participation of 33,500 households.
In 2016, the steering board will target for criteria of collecting and treating 98% of solid wastes in the town, 50% of treated water, 100% of clean water for households, 95% of medical wastes. All new projects will be allocated by the planning to prevent emergence of serious environment pollution.
