In recent years, environmental protection movements in districts, towns and city in the province have been widely developed, spread among residential areas. Particularly, many projects contained impressions of provincial youth in environmental protection.
Movements to be spread
Environmental Ambassador, singer Nguyen Phi Hung once said: “Binh Duong youth are growing, along with provincial development. They are young and dynamic. Many movements associated with public interests have been performed and made good impression to people. Especially, in environmental protection movements, Binh Duong youth have been pioneers to raise people’s awareness of environmental protection through meaningful action programs”.

The sponsor and provincial Youth Confederation inaugurated clean water project at My Phuoc ward, Ben Cat town.
Youth members have jointly carried out environmental protection movements in localities and residential areas. For example, garbage classification model initiated by Bau Bang district had been replicated by other localities; TDM City Youth Union and autonomous groups of environmental protection, Phu Giao district Youth Union and "green economy" project… Many action programs were commended for its practical meanings and effectiveness.
Besides, Binh Duong youth have also engaged enthusiastically in national action programs on environmental protection, such as: Arbor Day, World Water Day, Earth Hour, World Environment Day..., creating an animated atmosphere among youth members, the mass, improving gradually people's awareness of environmental protection. According to Department of Natural Resources - Environment, programs, such as: saving electricity, water, planting trees, exchanging garbage for presents and so on, launched by provincial youth have helped propaganda and education on environmental protection to be diverse, simple, and applicable.
Bringing clean water to residential areas
In July, provincial Youth Confederation launched a new program named Clean water at Quarter 1, My Phuoc ward, Ben Cat town. The project has brought great joy to 60 households here, because local water source has been contaminated with alum for decades. Ms. Huynh Thi Bong living in Quarter 1 said: “Our live still have many difficulties. We knew that contaminated water was harmful, but we did not have enough money to install a new clean water system. Therefore, we were so delighted, as the clean water project was installed”.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thao, Deputy Chief of provincial Youth Confederation, said, the clean water project at Quarter 1, My Phuoc ward expressed voluntary spirit of provincial youth and dedication of sponsors. The happiness of local people as having clean water proved the significant meaning of the project. The project will be implemented in other localities.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy, Director of SABMiller, said: “Contributing to society is the responsibility of enterprises. Our company are so proud to be the sponsor of this program to bring clean water to poor people”.
According to provincial Youth Confederation, in the future, the unit will develop many more action programs to spread environmental protection movement among all areas and people in the province. This is a practical action of provincial youth to contribute to building Binh Duong to be civilized and modern.
