
Medical ethics has becoming increasing matter of concerns by the public. On Vietnamese Day of Doctors, Binh Duong Newspaper interviewed M.A, M.D Van Quang Tan who is now Deputy Director of Department of Health.Reporter: As an officer of the sector, what is your evaluation of ethics among the provincial medical staffs?Mr. Van Quang Tan: Generally, we devote to the career. Many good examples of physicians and doctors have been praised for their enthusiasm and heartily devotion without thinking of benefits. We are all out for the patients.Reporter: People are now assuming that social treatment affects medical ethics; however, there are still good doctors. Then, the income should be blamed for the ill-treatment?Mr. Van Quang Tan: officers and medical doctors are just as human as everyone else. They also need material conditions to get on and develop while servicing the specialized sector. At least, without being worried about daily earnings, they should be more devoted. Those who observe the ethics shall prevail in whatever context. The core and vital matter is responsibility.Reporter: As for you, what can be done to be an ethical doctor?

Nhu Mr. Van Quang Tan: By teachings of Uncle Ho: “Luong y nhu tu mau” (a good doctor to a patient is like a mother to a child) and all the noble virtues, the ethical characteristic should be trained together with profession training.Ministry of Health also ruled 12 ethically medical regulations and 10 ethically medicine regulations on practice of the sector.
