Suffering from blood cancer ever since her 7, Vu Hoang Mi has been excelling in learning to maintain her title of excellent student in 11 consecutive years.

In ten years, she has kept the basis of coming to Ho Chi Minh City Ulcer Hospital for health-checking and blood transfusion.And all through such time, she has been suffering from fevers, shiver, and eatery decline let alone pains preventing her from standing and sitting.She even has passed out during meals. Her mother has been the only one to take care of her. On daily basis, she should take medicines twice; however, the pains kept returning in sleeps.Notwithstanding, Mi did not surrender to her fate by maintaining daily schooling by bicycle like many other peers.She said: “My blood group is AB which is rare, thus, I have to wait 3 months before each transfusion. I know it’s incurable; however, I live with the disease without much worries. I keep in my mind the possibility of recovery and pursue my dream.”Even in the days of greatest pains, she kept learning and learning.Her mother, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lua said: “My spouse is a retired elementary teacher who is now working on extra classes only while I sell soya milk to make ends meet. She used to called me from school to inform that the pain was just killing her and I had to picked her up at school.
