Veteran Thai Van Trung born in 1964 in Thanh Loc quarter, An Thanh ward, Thuan An town became a soldier. At that time, he was assigned to work at Regiment 320’s logistic work at Cambodia’s Kampong Thom Front in 1985. Three years later, he returned his homeland and worked as a carpenter and joined in the ward Veterans’ society.
For many years, a road under team 17 was downgraded, so he mobilized local people to raise fund for upgrading this road. Within two weeks, local residents joined hands to complete the 2.5m wide and 100m long road.
This result was thanks to great contributions of veteran Thai Van Trung and response from local residents.
Veteran Nguyen Thanh Huong born in 1963 in the same quarter with Trung told that in the end Dec. 2012 he arrested a robber to help a local victim. Many advised him not to pursue robbers because he is old. He replied that as a veteran, he must have responsibility to maintain order and security.
Veteran Nguyen Thanh Huong joined in border force in Loc Ninh in 1984. At present, he has joined in An Thanh ward Veterans’ Society and has been a member of the quarter Protection Committee.
