 Hold year-end parties

In the days approaching Tet holidays, company unions are busy giving Tet gifts, preparing for year-end parties and cultural and artistic programs to serve workers. At Hoya Lens Vietnam Joint Stock Company (Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City), more than 1,500 Tet gifts were carefully prepared by the company's trade union to give to employees. Each gift was worth 700,000 VND, mainly food and essential items that are very practical for employees.

Le Duc Hung, Chairman of grassroots Trade Union of Hoya Lens Vietnam Joint Stock Company, said: “This year, the company's production and business results increased steadily compared to last year. This achievement has important contributions of all employees. To express gratitude to all employees for their contributions, Board of Directors and grassroots trade unions regularly improve the material life of employees, organize healthy entertainment activities after stressful working days. Especially at the end of the year, the grassroots union coordinated with Board of Directors to organize a year-end thanks party for 1,500 employees at Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. At the event, employees enjoyed a grand music party and participated in a lucky draw program with valuable gifts including a first prize of a Honda Vison motorbike, television, refrigerator and hundreds of valuable gifts".

Meanwhile, at Hai My Company (Thuan An City), in the last days of the year, employees are busy working overtime to keep up with orders, while Board of Directors and grassroots union of the company prepare thoughtful Tet gifts delivered directly to employees. For employees having particularly difficult circumstances, the trade union coordinates with superior union levels to assess the situation and make a list to request support from Provincial People's Committee. In addition, Provincial Trade Union also allocated 64 bus tickets for company employees to return to their hometowns Thanh Hoa and Hanoi to celebrate Tet. The Tet gifts given to workers by all levels, branches, and companies show care and concern in the sense of not leaving workers needy on Tet holidays."

It is expected that Maruichi Sun Steel Joint Stock Company (Di An City) would hold a year-end party for more than 500 employees. Nguyen Tai Duong, Trade Union President of the company, said: “This meaningful party is to summarize the past year and is ready for the new year. On this occasion, all employees of the company will have an opportunity to meet and express their feelings, and above all, this is the concern of Directors Board and trade union for employees, who have accompanied and stood side by side with the company over years". The party promises to be more exciting when the company's amateur singers will show off their voice and employees will participate in a lucky draw program with a total gift value of more than 250 million VND.

Luong Nhat Huy, cold rolling worker of Maruichi Sun Steel Joint Stock Company, shared: “The company takes good care of us workers. Every year the company holds a year-end party and has many incentives for skilled workers and product improvement initiatives. This year, the company has a high Tet bonus so we are very pleased. Over the years, we continued to return to the company."

Localities join hands to take care of workers

In the days approaching Tet, in Thu Dau Mot City, trade unions at all levels coordinate closely with local authorities and lodging houses’ owners to take care of workers staying in Binh Duong during Tet holidays. Namely, lodging house's owners will hold small gatherings to celebrate New Year's Eve, go together to festivals at the beginning of new year, and cook rice cakes. Some landlords also exempt or reduce room rent, electricity and water bills to help poor and disadvantaged workers. Tet meal programs continue to be organized by wards for workers who cannot afford to return home to celebrate Tet. Le Hoai An, born in Nghe An province, said: "It's been a long time since I went home to celebrate Tet with my family. The saddest thing is when I see everyone preparing to go home to celebrate Tet. But in return, here we have received local attention by organizing many fun and meaningful cultural programs for us."

In Di An City, with the attention of the Party Committee, local authorities, and mass organizations, many activities have been organized to make the Tet of workers living and working in this area more joyful. According to statistics, during Lunar New Year 2024, Di An City has about 22,000 workers staying away from home celebrating Tet. At the same time, localities also organize cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the Party and spring to serve people, union members, and workers. These activities not only create a joyful atmosphere for workers to celebrate Tet, but also show the concern and sharing of Party committees, authorities, and mass organizations with workers.
