My Phuoc Ward (Ben Cat Town) has 5 families' clubs of sustainable development, of which the club in Quarter 1 have the most outstanding activities.
Do Thanh Lap, Chairman of the Club, said that before 2019 this had been a club of cultural families. The town's authority realized the effectiveness of this club model, thus decided to expand this model and changed its name to "families club for sustainable development". Currently, the club has nearly 30 households as members. Club members are exemplary cultural families in their locality. The club meeting is hold quarterly, communicates the Party's guidelines, State's policies and laws; prevention of domestic violence. In addition, 21 neighborhood groups of Quarter 1 also hold monthly meetings to popularize, encourage families to build cultural families and happy families together.
Household members of Quarter 1 mainly live on small home-based businesses and are workers. Thanks to the club activities, everyone is united and helps each other in many things. Supporting and helping each other by capital rotation; poor households are provided with capital to do small business and stabilize their lives. Talking about performance of the club, Mr. Lap assessed that since the club was established, there has been no domestic violence in the neighborhood. Conscious of building a cultural life, local social security and order in the area is guaranteed, people lives in the neighborhood, especially of the club, are improved. As a result, Quarter 1 has achieved the title of cultural quarter in five consecutive years.
