That was the theme of Vietnam Family Day (June 28th) of this year. This message also reminded people about the value of traditional family meals that need to be preserved.
This year, provincial Family Day was held on June 13th at provincial Cultural Centre with the participation of 27 exemplary families from 9 districts, towns and city in the province. Families gathered from early morning to prepare for their performance. Mr. Nguyen Van Duc living in Chanh Nghia ward, TDM City, said, four members of his family were so happy as they were selected to attend the provincial competition. This was is an opportunity for families to exchange experiences of bringing up children and building happy family.

The festive day was to celebrate the Vietnam Family Day (June 28th). Families took 1 in 3 competitions: sports, cooking, and talent. Sports had 2 categories: passing ball to the goal, and relay ball passing. In the Nutritional cooking competition, every family had to prepare a meal worth VND1 million for 10 people. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nghia, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Culture - Sports – Tourism, activities in the day were well organized at all levels. In order to achieve the objective of "Building Vietnamese personality from moral and lifestyle education in family”, the day created a chance for families to exchange and learn knowledge of building happy, cultural family.
Ms. Minh Ngia also emphasized, implementing uncle’s Ho teachings, the Party and State have taken care of families through movements, projects, such as: the movement "All people unite to build cultural life "; the model “Preventing, fighting domestic violence”, “Strengthening cultural families in the industrialization, modernization process”, project “Propagating, educating morality and lifestyle in Vietnamese families”, and so on. By the end of 2014, the province had 225,198 households to be recognized as cultural family (achieving 93.42%), and thousands of examples of good grandparents, parents, children. These were positive factors, the driving force of provincial socioeconomic development.
In 2015, the theme “Warm family meals” had a meaning to cherish reunion moment of families while dining, uphold valuable meaning of family love and sentiment. This was an opportunity for all sector and people to raise sense of responsibility to family, build up happy cultural families, creating new useful people for the society.
Also in 2015, family construction has had following programs: Summary of 10 years of implementing Directive No. 49-CT/TW dated Feb 21st 2005 of the Secretariat (9th term) on "Building family of industrialization and modernization period”; performing effectively provincial strategy developing Vietnamese family until 2020; promoting prevention, fighting domestic violence and gender equality; summarizing the 5-year implementation of Binh Duong Action Plan to prevent, fight domestic violence, project “Propagating, educating morality, lifestyle in Vietnamese families”.
Provincial Family Day 2015 was also supported by Thu Dau Mot University, HCM City Netspace culinary vocational school, Thang Loi wedding restaurant etc. thus having great socialization meaning. Experts of cooking, sports, culture and arts were jury members, thus improving the quality of the festival.
