setting As the cold weather has been brewing, farmers in Binh Duong Province hustle to plant for Tet. Against the coldness, farmers are on their farms very early and stay there working till sunset.Visiting farm produce regions of Phu Giao, Ben Cat, or Tan Uyen, it is very easy to catch your eyes with the busy work of farmers as the year ends.By the time, almost all farms have been seeded in rather favorable conditions for vegetables.Being so keaned on her chrysanthemum farm, Mrs. Tran Thi Mong Thu, residing at Thanh Hoa Commune of Thanh Hoi Commune in Tan Uyen District talked to us about her crops for the upcoming Tet. She said that she had planted 3,000 chrysanthemum pots timely supply by December 28th of the lunar calendar which would be, as she informed, the best time for full blossom.Last year, chrysanthemum was low in price; however, she was hopeful of increasing price to earn more before Tet.She said tha chrysanthemum should be in good shape to be sold to people using them to decorate their altar and worshiping during Tet, prompting the farmers to take more care.Visiting a farm at Tan Ba Quarter of Thai Hoa Townlet in Tan Uyen District, we witnessed the atmosphere of hustling farmers preparing for their crops. The location was traditional site in Thai Hoa for farm produce; however, so as to meet the market demands in recent years, farmers have been seeking for new kinds of produce to supply during Tet.Thanks to such divertion, many have made great earning. Mrs. Ha Thi Le Hoa, a local farmer, told us about her hard work on the farm for very short time span seedlings.Farmers are looking forwards to Tet more than other instances of the year. Therefore, they have to concentrate all fertilizers and pesticides to be more prepared for the good crops.Hoa added that her work on the farm would yield not very high income and that she only wished that the weather would be stable so as not to see her farm attacked by pests and diseases.For this seasonal crop, she planted Da Lat chrysanthemum on over 2,000 square meters of farm with expectation for higher income.Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Lan, residing at Vinh Hoa Commune of Phu Giao District said: “We have tradition of vegetable planting here. For the upcoming Tet, we are busier with our farms with various kinds of vegetables.
