Many farmers in Vinh Tan commune of Tan Uyen district now become rich people living in luxury villas. They drive luxury automobiles to coffee shops in the morning and wait to collect money in the afternoon. Many of them invest much money in remote districts of Binh Phuoc province to expand rubber plantations.
Vying with each other for purchasing automobiles and building villas
At Vinh Tan commune’s hamlet 1, 4 and 5, visitors witness numerous luxury automobiles worth roughly billions of VND. These expensive automobiles are possessed by rubber plantations’ proprietors.
More and more many luxury villas emerge amid wide rubber forests in Vinh Tan.
Nguyen Van Coi, 60, known as rubber billionaire in the locality, has possessed a newly-built villa worth roughly VND2bil and 4 new model automobiles.
Meanwhile, other rubber billionaires in the commune have vied with each other to purchase automobiles and build villas. Doan Van Trang, chairman of the communal Farmers’ Society spent about one billion VND to build a luxury villa and purchased a 7-seat auto worth about VND600mil.
Aside old age farmers, the commune’s hamlet 2 has had many young successful farmers such as Nguyen Van Minh, Vo Van Got, Vo Si Thua…
Accumulating land for wealth-making
To enjoy such comfortable life, the communal farmers are always hard-working. Nguyen Van Coi family used to hire land for cultivation. He spent their saving money to buy more land. In 1985, he possessed 15 ha of land and now owns about 30 ha of rubber trees.
With a small land lot given by parents, Doan Van Trang family has accumulated saving money to buy more land. Many land brokers often suggest buying his land with high prices but he always refuses with a shake of the head. Lastly, he bought 3 more hectares of land at Tan Dinh commune to plant rubber trees.
Nguyen Kieu Nuong, vice chairwoman of the communal People’s Committee, said Vinh Tan is suitable to develop agriculture and animal husbandry, especially rubber growing. Many well-invested routes have helped develop service and business sectors. Vinh Tan commune has only 48 poor households out of 1,660 ones. Local mass bodies have spared no efforts to offer training classes for farmers for the sake of production development.
