Modern life requires women to fulfill their responsibilities both at work and in family. In recent years, provincial female workers have engaged actively in emulation movement of “Good at state affairs, responsible for family affairs” in order to construct well-off, equal, advanced, happy families and a prosperous, civilized Binh Duong province.
“Two goods” in the new era
Fulfilling both two responsibilities is not an easy task, because life has changed. Their jobs require higher and more qualifications, and bringing up children is also different from the past. Therefore, each woman has to keep striving.
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hong, who is Female work board of Binh Duong Tribeco Company’s Trade Union, is an example. She has worked at the company for tens of year. With any positions, she always fulfills her duties. As a result, besides commendation from the company, she was the only representative for her company to receive certificate of merit “Proficient, creative worker” from PPC.

Ms. Hong not only accomplishes all tasks at work but also is good at family affairs. Despite busy work, she manages her schedule well to take care and educate her two children.
Female worker Nguyen Thi Tu Nga of New Toyo Company, who is also an example, said: “Role of new woman has changed. Modern women have to be competent to fulfill both work and family responsibilities”. Therefore, she keeps striving for the both, and received certificate of merits from provincial Labor Confederation, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, her company for fulfilling their professional duties and contributing to the Union.
Competition promoted
“Good at state affairs, responsible for family affairs” emulation movement among female workers has been focused by Trade Unions at all levels. Many activities have been deployed, such as: emulation combined with professional duties at companies; propaganda of law compliance on big national celebrations; contests of household arts, knowledge; discussions, clubs, cultural exchange, and so on.
The emulation at Vietnam – Singapore IP has been executed energetically with participation of majority female workers. According to VSIP Trade Union’s Chairwoman Dang Thi Kim Chi, the “Good at state affairs, responsible for family affairs” emulation movement has been fostered by Trade Unions at all levels. Thereby, female workers have promoted their professional abilities at work. They have also been aware of fulfilling family affairs as a precious Vietnamese women’s virtue, the foundation of a happy family.
