On September 5, Binh Duong province announced the establishment of the field hospital No. 5 and put it into operation under a scale of 1,580 beds, fully invested in medical equipment, ensuring the treatment and care for Covid-19 patients on the first floor of the triage in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health, at Road No. 1 of Song Than 3 Industrial Park in Thu Dau Mot city.

Attending the announcement ceremony was Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the CPV Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control; Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Standing Member, Head of the provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization, Chairman of the provincial Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front; Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of Provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Mai Hung Dung recognized and appreciated the efforts of Thu Dau Mot city while expressing gratitude to the construction unit as well as the sponsors who have contributed to the timely opening of Field Hospital No. 5. He noted that the leadership of Field Hospital No. 5 needs to quickly complete the plan to deploy and operate the treatment area in accordance with the assigned tasks along with clear assignments of duties for efficient use of equipment and, at the same time, the coordination with relevant units to ensure all necessary conditions for the treatment area to operate effectively right after the hospital comes into operation. During its operation, the hospital needs to perform quarantine, care-taking, treatment and emergency treatment of patients in accordance with the process and guidance of Ministry of Health to ensure the best health status and safety for patients and staff.
He also wished that all hospital staff would continue to overcome difficulties, thereby, further improve the initiation, flexibility, and efficiency of coordination to provide the best care and treatment for Covid-19 patients. Field Hospital No. 5 was built in the tens of thousands of square meters factory area of Lien Chau Textile Co. Ltd. The hospital is also sponsored by Viet Phat Technology and Services Company Limited (VietPhat Group) to install a remote monitoring security camera system of about VND 800 million.
Thus, up to now, 7 field hospitals with more than 20,000 beds has been established in Binh Duong province.
