Firm "fortresses" against the pandemic

Since the fourth Covid-19 wave, Binh Duong has been resiliently fighting against the pandemic and gained remarkable results. The province's good anti-pandemic results were comprised from many factors. In particular, the consensus and solidarity between the Party Committee, the government and the people, play an important role. It is the unanimity among the people, who are also soldiers, communes and wards in the province really became solid anti-pandemic "fortresses".

Nguyen Van Loc (3rd from the left), Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, visited and praised self-governing people's groups for their contributions to the protection of safe green zone in Tan Binh ward.

To build sturdy "fortresses"

Tan Binh ward is one of good examples and also a fortress of disease prevention and control of Di An city during this. The most noticeable image of Tan Binh today is residential roads, internal alleys protected, surrounded by a system of checkpoints that protect green zones. These checkpoints have functions of protecting, protecting and maintaining the established “safe green zones”. Staff guarding these checking are members of self-governing people's groups.

Nguyen Van Phuc, Party Secretary, Head of Covid-19 Steering Committee of Tan Binh ward, said that in the fight against the pandemic, the ward received the cooperation and consensus of the people, so the establishment of checkpoints and distribution of forces on duty took place quite smoothly and quickly. The consensus of the people and drastic disease prevention and control measures are important factors that help sustain the local "fortress" against the Covid-19.

As a result, Tan Binh ward now has 37 safe green zones that have been confirmed as areas without Covid-19 cases in many consecutive days. This ward continues to implement testing and screening plans, separate F0s from the community; at the same time, mobilize the great unity bloc of people to participate in the protection, maintenance and preservation of green zones according to the model of self-governing people's groups.

The recorded Covid-19 infections in bordering areas of cities: Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An and Tan Uyen Town, have begun to decrease in the past few days. The agreement and synergies between the Party, local governments and the whole people in disease prevention and control is the main factor helping localities to achieve these optimistic results. Despite wards of Tan Binh  (Di An City), Binh Chuan (Thuan An City), Phu Tan (Thu Dau Mot City)... have a large number of workers as temporary residents and mechanical population, with the determination of the whole political system, the disease prevention and control work has been carried out in a synchronous and drastic manner with obvious results.

Together to prevent and fight the pandemic

These days, in Di An and Thuan An, members of Covid-19 community teams carry loudspeakers around all streets in residential areas to disseminate pandemic information as well as grasp the conditions of people's lives. The efficiency of Covid-19 community groups is also an important factor that contributes to maintaining the "fortresses" of disease prevention and control in communes and wards of the province. Nguyen Thanh Minh (70 years old), a resident of Tan Phuoc neighborhood, Tan Binh ward, Di An city, said that since the fourth Covid-19 wave, although his family's income has been affected seriously, the family has never been deprived of food. Being provided with enough food and necessities, and regularly receiving information, his family are assured and comply with  the order of "people stay where they are" to prevent and control the outbreak.

Not only permanent residents but also temporary residents in lodging houses have been supported by local governments and local people to overcome the pandemic. Ton Quang Vinh, Party Secretary, Chairman of People's Committee of Binh Chuan Ward (Thuan An City), said that in the past few days, the ward checked the list of permanent and temporary residents, and even cases that have not registered a temporary residence, in order to promptly report to superiors and receive support. The ward also flexibly distributed food and necessities donated by benefactors to help residents overcome difficult days.

Ngo Thi Thu Thao, a resident of Quarter 3, Phu Tho ward (Thu Dau Mot city), said she absolutely agreed with the establishment of disease control checkpoints at entrances and exits in the ward to maintain green zones. Thao said that all people in her neighborhood have a high sense of disease prevention and control and are ready to become soldiers to protect their green zones where they live.
