Practical support
Binh Duong is always interested in building and well realizing social welfare policies, which is considered as a goal and a driving force for sustainable economic development, maintaining socio-political stability. In order to well implement social welfare work, along with the regular attention of the Party and State, the province has also absorbed the involvement of the whole society.

Provincial leaders give money for the local humanitarian addresses
In implementing policies on social welfare, Binh Duong has always excelled at realizing preferential policies for revolutionary contributors. Le Minh Quoc Cuong, Director of provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said that along with efforts in socio-economic development, the local Party and government over the past time identified the task on war invalids and martyrs as one of the local important and regular political tasks with many results done, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of the local revolutionary contributors. Provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs also advised provincial People's Committee on issuing outstanding policies to support the local revolutionary contributors.
On the occasion of the annual Lunar New Year festival and Invalids and Martyrs' Day on July 27, the province visited and presented gifts to revolutionary contributors with total cost of over VND60 billion. In addition to the prescribed level of support, the province also organized delegations to visit and give gifts for outstanding revolutionary contributors.... As of late 2020, there were 99.94% of the local revolutionary with living standards that were equal to or higher than the average living standard of those in the same place of residence.
The province has also regularly taken care of disadvantaged people by practical support activities. According to Mr. Cuong, Binh Duong has always been one of the country’s localities early raising the higher poverty line than the national level. Since 2004, Binh Duong has raised its poverty line 9 times, higher than the national level from 1.3 to 3 times, especially 1.7 times higher in the 2016-2020 period… With synchronous and effective solutions, the province obtained positive results in the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction. As of late 2020, the province had a total of 3,114 poor households, accounting for 0.95% of total and 3,031 near-poor households, accounting for 0.93% of total. Thus, from 2016 to late 2020, the whole province reduced by 4,566 poor households under the local poverty line, ensuring the rate of the local poor reduction. The province basically had no poor households in accordance with the central poor line and no households falling into poverty again.
Over the past time, the province effectively implemented policies on poverty reduction. Many effective poverty reduction models were also replicated. In the period of 2016-2020, the province considered and provided more than VND1.45trillion in loan for 30,150 poor, near-poor households and those just escaping from poverty; raised the level of support from 70% to 100% to buy health insurance for people from near-poor households… Also during the period, the whole province supported construction of 653 houses for poor households, with total cost of more than VND 53.5 billion...
Further caring for the poor
According to Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the population of Binh Duong has increased rapidly with a large of immigrants, accounting for 57% of total population. Therefore, the province has paid more attention to social welfare policies. Along with State budget, the province has promoted socialization resources in taking care of policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged people.
Possibly seeing, the province's policies on social welfare have contributed to improving the living standards of the local people. Since 2017, Binh Duong has been recognized as the country’s first province with no poor households under the national poverty line by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs. Binh Duong has just been recognized as the province with the country’s highest per capita income by the General Statistics Office. In order to further take better care of people's lives, Binh Duong will further implement solutions to ensure social welfare, effectively realize the National Targeted Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction; maintain 100% of poor and near-poor households to fully enjoy poverty reduction policies and get access to basic social services in the next 5 years. With many meaningful support programs and activities, it is believed that Binh Duong will continue successfully implementing the set goals

Especially, mass organizations must mobilize businesses, donors and the whole society to take care of the targeted subjects.
