Late July 27, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over a meeting to hear a report released by the consulting unit under the Ministry of Construction on the regional development plan for HCM city and visions towards 2050.
The goal of the regional development plan is to balance spaces and uphold localities’ potentials and strong points in the region. The central area for the regional economic development includes HCM city, Long An province’s Duc Hoa, Can Giuoc districts, Binh Duong province’s TDM city, Di An, Ben Cat and Tan Uyen towns, Bien Hoa city’s Nhon Trach, Trang Bom and Long Thanh districts and a part of Vinh Cuu district in Dong Nai province.
HCM city will be a central urban area of the whole region and TDM will be a center of the northern region. Till 2030, Binh Duong will be among five first-class cities and also be a center of the northern sub-region of the central urban area.
Concluding the meeting, Mr.Liem spoke highly of the consulting unit’s regional development plan. He also emphasized that the regional development plan needed to attach special importance to developing a traffic system with the regional connection, focus on developing Binh Duong into a center on health and education of the region, pay more attention to promoting hi-tech and urban agricultural models in the province…
