As directed by the Administration of Food Safety of the Ministry of Health, Binh Duong Provincial Department of Health has asked the relevant medical units to strengthen assurance of food safety and prevention of food poisoning autumn-winter season.
The agencies are required to strengthen communication and dissemination of knowledge about prevention of food poisoning, food-borne illness and diseases in the autumn-winter season. Propaganda is required to be made so that people should not pick, fish, trade, harvest and use poisonous plants and animals such as poisonous mushrooms, puffer fish, strange oysters and snails strange. Subjects of such propaganda are the people living in the remote areas with focus on the types of seasonal poisonous plants in the province. It is also required that collaboration with other functional units should be proactively made to ensure food safety plans; subjects of high risk in the managed areas should be inspected and checked up; food safety control should be intensified against production facilities and food businesses in the autumn-winter season.
Special focus should be made against cattle and poultry slaughtering houses, and collective kitchens with special focus on schools, hospitals, industrial parks, export processing zones and catering business locations in neighboring areas.
