The tree planting program "For a Green Binh Duong" was launched and disseminated among Provincial Youth Union branches in the province. To perform this program, Youth Union members actively participated in planting, caring and protecting trees, creating a beautiful landscape and green environment.
The tree planting program "For a Green Binh Duong" aimed to successfully implement the target of the 11th National Youth Union Resolution to plant 30 million trees; Of which, Provincial Youth Union was assigned to plant 136,000 trees and was in compliance with the target set by Provincial People's Committee to plant 20,000 trees for the period 2018-2019. Tran Bao Lam, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Youth Union, said that regarding creating tree sources, Provincial Youth Union signed a memorandum of understanding with Becamex IDC on cooperative activities in planting trees in Binh Duong urban areas period 2018-2019.
Accordingly, Becamex IDC will provide seedlings according to the target that Provincial Youth Union is assigned by Provincial People's Committee every year. Besides, district-level Youth Unions and equivalent organizations cooperated with local agencies and enterprises to exploit resources to create seedling sources; Synthesize the demand for green seedlings from local people and then report to Provincial Youth Union for timely preparation. Youth Union branches selected the right time to plant trees, but focused on peak time of planting trees, like: Tree Planting’s Day, Youth Month, Voluntary Summer Campaign, World Environment Day, For a cleaner world’s campaign... In addition, Youth Unions also supported resources to plant trees in localities.

In order to effectively implement the "For a green Binh Duong" program in 2018, Provincial Youth Union instructed Youth Union branches to ensure that the number of new planted trees was equal to the annual allocation. Nguyen Thi Van Khanh, Deputy Secretary of Di An town Youth Union, said: "In Voluntary youth campaign 2018, the town Youth Union organized for members to plant flowers along roads of Di An high school (Di An ward). The town Youth Union will also plant 500 trees to fulfill the target and enhance youth movement of urban renovation. In North Tan Uyen district, in the first 6 months of 2018, grassroots Youth Unions actively implemented the program and planted 150 trees. In addition to planting trees, union branches also took care, protected greeneries, assigned specific tasks to members, and ensured the development of new trees.
The planting of new trees under provincial targets and actively participated in the planting to complete targets of each unit was considered an important activity of Youth Union in the program of planting trees in the period 2018- 2019. Especially, during the implementation, Youth Unions implemented many innovative models in accordance with local conditions, such as planting trees, landscape trees, building gardens and roads of trees, flower streets, green buildings, green areas, flower gardens, green trees in schools, and renovating illegitimate garbage collection points into flower garden.
