Early June 1, the Fruit Festival 2015 of Southern Region was kicked off at the venue of Suoi Tien Cultural Theme Park in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City. At the ceremony, artist delegations including those from India, South Korea, Malaysia, Laos, and Cambodia marched through. This year’s festival includes 50 stalls displaying delicacy fruits of domestic localities. As for Binh Duong Province, 20 gardens representing the locality attended the festival.
Aside from fruit floating market, the contest of safe and delicious fruits has attracted hundreds of gardeners from 21 provinces and cities, introducing nearly 6,00 fruits. Binh Duong Province sent 5 fruits to attend the contest, of which, mangosteen is highly appreciated as delicious and safe.
This year’s festival is to uphold the shaping arts using fruits. 10 artists from Binh Duong Province created their unique colorful work at the festival, depicting sovereignty of Vietnam, nation unification and President Ho Chi Minh’s 125th birthday.
