Fulcrum helps workers rise up

Binh Duong is a province that attracts a large number of laborers from various cities and provinces across the country. Most of them are unskilled laborers with limited living conditions. They still live at lodging facilities with low incomes, or deal with challenges like serious illnesses, workplace accidents, or extremely difficult circumstances. Over the past time, Binh Duong implemented numerous programs and activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of laborers, especially those who are poor or vulnerable.

With the spirit of "leaving no one behind", Binh Duong consistently implemented effective policies over the past years to care for and support the poor, including workers. Provincial leaders have always recognized workers as a crucial driving force for the development of the province. Therefore, the province realized specific and practical guidelines, policies and activities to create the best conditions for workers. These included promoting education, advocating for the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of workers, improving the material and spiritual lives of workers facing difficulties, living far from home, or dealing with workplace accidents, occupational diseases, or serious illnesses. In addition, many meaningful programs, namely “Benefits for trade unionists”, "Tet Reunion", “Trade Union Tet Market”, "Compassionate Bus", “Workers' Month”, “Discounted Sales Week for Workers”, “Healthcare Festival”…were also organized to  bring benefits to trade unionists and workers

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Binh Duong provided hundreds of billions of dong in meal and rental assistance to help workers overcome difficulties. Each year, the province allocates tens of billions of dong to provide Tet gifts for workers living away from home or facing extremely difficult circumstances, which is a humanitarian activity being maintained for many years. For instance, during the 2024 “Tet Reunion – Sharing Spring” program, the province spent over VND 44 billion on supporting 44,400 disadvantaged workers who could not return to their hometowns for Tet. Each worker received VND 1 million. Additionally, the province provided bus, train, and plane tickets for workers in need, enabling them to celebrate Tet with their families. Since 2020, provincial “Fund to Support Workers with Extremely Difficult Circumstances” has also helped thousands of laborers rise up in life…

For many years, Binh Duong has developed mechanisms and policies to support workers living away from home, including social housing projects for laborers. Provincial People’s Committee and Labor Union have just signed a cooperation agreement for the 2024–2028 period. This agreement aims at improving workers ‘material and spiritual lives while strengthening the protection of their legitimate rights and interests…
