Morning August 10th, all pupils of primary, secondary and high schools in Binh Duong province went back to school to start a new school year 2015-2016.
The joy of going to school
At 7.00 am on August 10th, all pupils gathered at schools. After 3 months of summer, pupils were so happy to go back to schools and see teachers, friends. Pupil Tran Thi Kim Ngan of Binh Phu high school (TDM City) said, she was admitted to 10th-grade class. Because of being gifted in natural sciences, she selected to follow a specialty of natural science. At the start-day of the new school year, she learned about school rules and activities.
Teachers and pupils of Tran Binh Trong secondary school (TDM City) also welcomed a new school year. Principal Nguyen Van Nghia said, in order for 100% pupils in the ward to be able to go to school, the school received over 20 pupils switching from other wards. Therefore, the pupil number of this year increased nearly 50 ones. In the 2014-2015 school year, their school exceeded its target of 95% graduation, 75% 10th-grade admission. In the new school year, teachers and pupils of the school will continue to maintain these targets to complete national standards of school.

To implement The day of All people sending children to school, rural areas also took their children to school. In Dau Tieng district, during the first week, schools universalized school rules, propaganda of traffic safety, team activities among pupils, especially first grades. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Head of Phu Giao district Education and Training Bureau, said, the sector strived to increase the percentage of pupils sent to school, namely children under 36 months achieved 25%, children of 3-4 years old achieved 92%, children of 5 years old achieved 99% or higher; 100% children of 6 years old to be sent to 1st-grade, and 100% children to complete primary level.
Many schools increase pupil number
As an industrial developing province, Binh Duong gathers a large number of migrants. In this new school year, the number of pupils rose in some localities. Provincial total pupil number increased over 32,000 ones, mainly preschool and elementary pupils. Thuan An town also had more over 8,000 pupils. Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of town People’s Committee, said: “Our solutions are reducing classes of 2 times/day, classifying pupils according to localities, distributing pupils between neighboring schools, using function rooms as classrooms. At the present, many schools have over 40 pupils/class. In fact, this arrangement is overwhelming to us. However, Thuan An town has encouraged parents having children living in the town to sent their children to school”.
Ms. Vu Thi Hong Hoa, Vice Principal of Tan Dinh primary school in Ben Cat town, said, this year, the school had 2,280 pupils, and had the largest pupil number in the town. 1st grades had 539 pupils, each class has nearly 50 pupils. 1st-grade teacher Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lam, who has 15 years of teaching experiences, said: “With a class of 50 pupils, teacher must quickly lead pupils into order and discipline. A 1st-grade teacher must be really a mother to pupils, because this is a transitional period between kindergarten and 1st-grade”.
Determining to improve the quality
In the 2015-2016 school year, educational sector put forward the theme “Practical innovation, improved efficiency, sustainable quality" with the motto "Dynamic - Innovative" and the slogan "Devoted, dedicated, all for pupils”. Ms. Nguyen Hong Sang, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Education – Training, said, the sector focused on implementing two major tasks. These were fundamental innovation of management and comprehensive innovation of educational training activities. The sector urged schools to devise plans for teacher and staff training, teaching method innovating, assessing. Administrative staff must be active, creative, implement innovation towards international integration.
Perform substantial innovation, the sector encourages teachers to renew teaching methods, especially informatics and foreign languages; gradually improve the quality of teaching towards modernization, enhance practicing skills to solve practical problems.
