On August 18, Binh Duong Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has issued a document guiding the implementation of funeral financial aid for people who died of Covid-19 in the province.
Accordingly, the one-time financial support for families and individuals whose family members die from Covid-19 is VND 20,000,000/person. If a deceased person is eligible for multiple policy benefits, the highest support will be selected.
The procedure to transfer funeral expenses is carried out as follow: Households and individuals whose family members died of Covid-19 need to fill in the Declaration to request support for funeral expenses according to Decree 20/2021/ND-CP of the Government, and enclose with the death notice certified by the mecical center treating the deceased, send to Chairman of commune-level People's Committee where the deceased is a permanent or temporary resident.
In case a person die of Covid-19 without family: Relevant organizations and individuals shall conduct cremation and carry out payment procedure at commune-level People's Committee where medical treating center of the deceased is located. Commune People's Committees need to summarize documents and send to district People's Committees for consideration and decision.
Nguyen Ngoc Hang, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, added: Within two working days, Office of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs summarizes and submits to district People's Committee for approval. Within one day, district People's Committee needs to sign the decision and transfer it to the commune level for payment. Thus, within three working days, households and individuals whose family members died of Covid-19 in the province will receive funeral financial aid.
