On this occasion, Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Pham Hong Thang, vice secretary of the provincial Youth Union to discuss results of the past term and orientations and programs for the incoming tenure.
After 5 years of launching and implementing Resolution of the 2009-2014 term provincial Youth Union congress, could you tell about prominent results of activities and movements of this union?
In the past term, the provincial Youth Confederation Committee at all levels always renovated, diversified operational forms, expanded organization and operation of the confederation to youths across the province, organized movements and mobilizations in conformity with characters of youths.
As a result, the confederation attracted, gathered and promoted participation of numerous young laborers, contributing to local socio-economic development.
The mobilization of “Youths live usefully” is launched widely and creatively, contributing to develop groups of cultural and useful and kind youths for family and society.
Voluntary activities for social welfare are forwarded widely and gone into depth, attracting a number of members and young laborers through prominent movements of environmental protection, free health check-ups and treatments, blood donation and more.
The program of “When the country needs” impacts positively on members’ thought and awareness and inspires the national pride and creates trust for young workers in the cause of building and protecting the country.
Meanwhile, programs of building and developing the union, expanding solidarity fronts and gathering youths make up strength among youths and young laborers. The provincial Youth Confederation at all levels is reinforced its apparatus and improves operation efficiency. Cadres trained skill and knowledge become nuclear elements of the patriotic emulation movements and more.
Could you tell about important characters of the confederation in the past term?
Development of the confederation through implementation of the project of “gathering young workers in the period of 2011-2015” really becomes the most important feature in the term. The confederation builds 900 sub-unions of young workers at boarding houses and enterprises. More than 50,000 young workers have been gathered into the confederation organization, thousands of young workers have been educated and enjoyed the confederation’s programs. Especially, model of the provincial Youth Confederation at big enterprises contains high breakthroughs, bringing positive results in developing the organization at businesses.
Meanwhile, voluntary campaigns for social welfare in the past term showed a remarkable change on scale, character and form as well as mobilized skill, capacity of youths to create profound marks for the society and people.
What measures, tasks and action plans will the provincial Youth Union set out in the 2014-2019 term?
In the 6th term, the provincial Youth Union will focus on implementing the movement of “I love Vietnam” and solutions to reinforce and develop the union organization, expand solidarity front and gathering youths.
The movement of “I love Vietnam” is to educate, orientate and promote the patriotic tradition and inspire youths’ aspiration of dedicating to country. In addition, the movement will make up an good environment to encourage youths to show up their patriotism by concrete actions.
Meanwhile, the union will extend its operation to youths and young laborers across the province in a bid to build a strong cadre staff.
As a fast developing industrial province, Binh Duong has attracted numerous young workers throughout the country. Therefore, in the new term, the union will concentrate on building and developing the union organization at non-state enterprises as well as promoting role of young workers on local socio-economic development and social order and security and more.
