Celebrating the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (from October 20, 1930 to October 20, 2022), 12 years of Vietnamese Women's Day (from October 20, 2010 to October 20, 2022), in the morning of October 20, at the provincial Convention and Exhibition Center was a meeting and a talk on the role of women in the modern context.
Attending the event was Do Thuy Dieu Tam - Deputy Head of the Southern Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, Nguyen Hoang Thao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Van Loc - Standing Member, Head of the provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization and Chairman of the provincial Committee of Vietnamese Fatherland Front, Nguyen Loc Ha - Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee and Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Minh Thuy - Standing Member and Head of the Organization Department of the provincial Party Committee, Truong Thi Bich Hanh - Standing Member and Head of the Propaganda and Education Division of the provincial Party Committee and representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, female leaders over stages, cadres, members, and trade unionists in the province.
Help is being given to disadvantaged and orphaned students
At the meeting, Truong Thanh Nga - Chairwoman of the provincial Women's Union, reviewed the fine traditions of women and the meaning of the founding date of the Vietnam Women's Union. Particularly at all levels in the province, the emulation of "Binh Duong women to have health, knowledge, creativity and responsibility" contributing to building Vietnamese women in a new era in association with the movement building families of criteria towards women's moral qualities of confidence, self-respect, loyalty, and courage and learning to follow President Ho Chi Minh's example, ethics and style. About 11 typical projects at the provincial level and 2 works won the central prize in the program of "Accompanying women in border areas" with a total value of nearly VND 900 million, the programs of "Godmother" and "Millions of gifts to share love" have beautifully impressed the community. So far, it has sponsored 800 turns of orphans and disadvantaged children and due to the COVID-19 epidemic with a total amount of VND 12 billion. Activities on social security, gratitude, environmental protection, and compassionate for the community have been carried out by associations at all levels to bring about many results.
At the ceremony, gratitude was also expressed to the retired President, Deoputy President, and provincial Women's Union staff. The branch of "Buddhist Women of Binh Duong" was also launched at the event. The Trade Union of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) received support for 8 orphans due to the COVID-19 epidemic with a total amount of VND 160 million. The Provincial Women's Union campaigned to award scholarships to each of 16 orphan girls with difficult circumstances VND 2 million.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Nguyen Loc Ha congratulated on the participants and acknowledged the achievements that officials, members and women at all levels have achieved in recent years, looking forward to the association's development to provide timely support and help women start-ups, contributing to the good implementation of social security.
