Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is a top priority

On August 23, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired an online meeting with provincial localities on the implementation of peak month for vaccination against COVID-19, prevention control of dengue fever (DHF) and infectious diseases. 

According to Provincial Department of Health, up to now, the province has injected more than 7.2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The number of COVID-19 cases is currently increasing and Omicron subvariants is spreading. Besides the complicated developments of the COVID-19, the dengue fever is also increasing in terms of the number of infection cases and deaths. As of August 23, the province recorded 10,582 cases and 18 deaths, of which 10 were children under 15 years old. Hand, foot and mouth disease recorded 2,413 cases, 1 death; other diseases, such as measles, rubella, seasonal flu, have no abnormality.  

At the meeting, all localities asserted that the COVID-19 and dengue fever were increasing, and the peak month of vaccination against COVID-19, prevention of dengue and other infectious diseases was actively carried out. After the launch, the number of dengue infection cases decreased significantly, but the vaccination against COVID-19 faced many difficulties due to population fluctuations and lack of data, thus the data input of vaccination rate of the province was still slow and much lower than reality. 

Concluding the meeting, Nguyen Loc Ha appreciated efforts of localities to grasp the situation; and emphasized that vaccination is the top task of the medical branch in addition to getting ready to respond to new variants; enhancing the application of information technology in vaccination...
