Deputy Manager of Nursing Office Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van said, annually, some companies come to the hospital to donate money to poor patients. Some major benefactors are: VSIP industrial park with VND600mln, Binh Duong Lottery Company with VND250mln, 3/2 Company with VND50mln, Kim Oanh Real Estate Company with VND50mln etc.Additionally, some individual benefactors usually come to offer money. Staff of the hospital also engage in this meaningful activity. Many physicians have given a part of their wage to these disadvantaged patients, because “these patients are so pitiful, especially patients were abandoned by families”.General Hospital’s leaders appreciated this philanthropic deed. All contributions have been recorded carefully and given to needy patients. This year, many benefactors have continues their support, which resolved the “owing hospital fees” dilemma of poor patients. They were: VSIP industrial park, BIDV – Binh Duong branch etc.“It’s so happy, because we are not escaping patients anymore!”Ms. Nguyen Thi Ren, who does not have any relatives, was so happy, when the hospital excused her from hospital fees worth nearly VND34mln. She was a patient of Recuperation Department at the General Hospital. Her treatment was costly, but she could not afford the hospital fees. Before that, poor patient Le Van Minh treated at Surgery Department was given strength through VND22mln for hospital fee payment. there are also people, who are so poor that they do not have money for anything. Everything, from meals, medication and treatment fees have to rely on the hospital.Doctor Duong Tan Tai, General Hospital’s Deputy Director, said, he was very grateful to organizations, individuals for sharing this difficulty with the hospital. Contributions to this fund have helped the hospital to address extremely poor patients, or escaping patients. There are about 50 poor patients excused from hospital fees every year. In addition, on big occasions, provincial People’s Committee, Department of Health, Department of Labor – War Invalids and Social Affairs, and many other agencies usually visit and present gifts, money to poor patients. Doctor Tai said: “Many organizations, individuals have accompanied us through helping poor patients paying hospital fees, supporting medical equipment, and potential doctors with their projects etc. All are to serve better health examination of patients”.
