On September 28, the Global Fund for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control held a conference to launch the project of Global Fund for HIV/AIDS Prevention 2018.
At the meeting, participants listened to reports on HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the province in the first nine months of the year; dissemination of the Global Fund 2018 plan. In the first nine months of 2018, the province did 1776 samples, reaching 60% target; detected 59 positive HIV/AIDS samples; the number of new infections was 371 cases; bringing the number of infected people in the province to over 2600 persons. Of these, 29 cases progressed to AIDS, an increase of 5.8 times compared to the same period in 2017; 39 deaths, an increase of nearly 10% over the same period last year...
In 2018, Binh Duong is funded by the Global Fund for HIV/AIDS Prevention (2018-2020) with a non-refundable ODA capital of over $85,000 forthe project implementation in the province. The project is aimed at contributing to the implementation of the National Strategy on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control in Vietnam; to control the rate of HIV infections in the general population below 0.3% and reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS on socio-economic development.
At the meeting, participants discussed how to achieve HIV testing targets in health facilities, amateur HIV testing and community HIV testing; difficulties and problems in payment of health insurance for infected people...
