This March, we would like to introduce two faces of female petanque athletes, who have achieved achievements in top sports tournaments, bringing domestic and international gold medals to Binh Duong’s petanque team in particular and Vietnam’s petanque team in general to readers. They are athlete Trinh Thi Kim Thanh, the world’s gold medalist in Thailand at the end of November 2023 and young athlete Le Ngoc Nhu Y, the women's doubles gold medalist at the 2022 National Sports Festival.
To achieve success, they have overcome many difficulties and always strive to practice every day. Le Ngoc Nhu Y is only 20 years old this year. Currently, she lives in Di An city and goes to Thuan An every day to practice. These days, she is focusing on the national tournament that will take place this April. This is also a very promising female petanque athlete from Binh Duong. Unlike Nhu Y, Trinh Thi Kim Thanh has to travel from Ho Chi Minh city to the training ground every day. Kim Thanh said that she has a small child. Every day after dropping off her child, she goes to the training ground and comes back to pick her up in the afternoon. Kim Thanh's husband is a taxi driver. The couple is still living in a rented house and this golden girl's biggest dream is to have an apartment to make her life less difficult.
