These days, every road in Phu Giao district has become brighter and more bustling to welcome Lunar New Year 2019. People in Phu Giao showed their excitement and waited for a happy and meaningful Tet. Along with the economic development, in recent years, Phu Giao district has paid much attention to the implementation of gratitude activities. This year, to support policy families, revolutionary contributors, from mid-Dec 2018, the district Office of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs (LISA) has built the plan for visits, giving gifts to the above subjects. Cao Thanh Xuan, Head of the district LISA Office, said that on this occasion, the district would organize visits to Vietnamese heroic mothers and policy beneficiaries having sickness or difficult family circumstance in the area; collaborate with departments and organizations to clean up the district Martyrs Cemetery; communes and towns also organized cleaning in grave areas and memorials of martyrs in the area. Besides, the district also organized visits and gave gifts to wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and revolutionary contributors, who are receiving monthly allowance in their localities; family of soldiers being on duty on islands... Each gift is worth from 1 to 2.5 million VND. "This is an activity showing the concern of the Party and State for policy families and people in the area. Although the gift value is all, but each gift is the sharing, a source of encouragement to the receivers on spring days", Mr. Xuan said.
To further enhance gratitude work
Gratitude work always concerns the Party and government of Phu Giao district. This is identified as one of the most important tasks with the goal of ensuring living standards of policy beneficiaries to be equal or higher than the average living standards of local residents.
In addition to meaningful gifts presented by the district’s government, departments, mass organizations to policy families and revolutionary contributors on annual Lunar New Year, War Invalids Martyrs’ Day 27 Jul, Phu Giao district also carry out many other practical activities. In 2018, the district People's Committee awarded the title "Exemplary citizen" to 60 policy beneficiaries in communes and towns. Thanks to the central and local funds, plus donations from the community, the whole district built and repaired 54 houses for policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors with total cost of VND2,480 billion (of which 8 newly built houses worth VND640 million); regularly arrange trips for policy beneficiaries to relax every year...
Thanks to the attention and care from the Party and State, life of policy families and revolutionary contributors in Phu Giao district has been constantly improved. Many war invalids and sick soldiers with strong mind and determination have strived and continued to contribute to local construction and development.
