Sectors and mass organizations in Thuan An and Di An cities have had many practical ways in propagandizing and mobilizing locals to take part in civilized urban construction.
Positive changes
Di An city’s Steering Board of the movement “All people consolidate to build up cultural lifestyle” has coordinated with functional sectors to propagandize and mobilize people to build cultural lifestyle in residential areas in association with other emulation movements by many forms and contents in line with each targeted individual. Last year, the city organized 924 propaganda shows, absorbing nearly 49,000 participants.

The city has also paid attention to grassroots conciliation and reached good results in this field. City-based grassroots conciliation groups last year received 198 cases, 168 of which were conciliated successfully, thereby contributing to ensuring the local order and security.
Whilst, Thuan An city has actively mobilized locals to take part in civilized urban construction in association with the movement of defending national security and reached positive results. Tran Van Muoi, Head of the city’s Division of Culture and Information said that the movement of “All people consolidate to build cultural lifestyle” was promoted across the city over the past time. The city’s Fatherland Front Committee together with sectors and mass organizations to mobilize locals to actively get involved in the movement in association with the fight against crimes and social evils. As a result, the local police agency handled 235 wrong doers; sent 177 addicts to compulsory detoxification centers…from 668 information resources provided by locals.
In addition, emulation movements have been regularly organized with focus on 3 models, namely “Quarter, hamlet without waste”, “Civilized urban street”, “Civilized market”. They have also received response from locals, creating active impacts on the local cultural life and security.
Good ways replicated
In the past, some big streets in Vinh Phu ward’s Hoa Long quarter in Thuan An city were full of waste. But now, they look very clean and nice under the model of “quarter without waste”. Nguyen Van Khai, Secretary of Hoa Long quarter’s Party Cell said that this result came from the integral efforts by the executive board of the quarter and locals in keeping environmental hygiene.
In Di An city, the movement of “building cultural lodging facility” has received enthusiastic response from proprietors. Through mass organizations, they have propagandized and mobilized lodgers to comply with the State’s regulations while actively taking part in the movements on prevention of crimes, social evils and environmental protection. As a result, the whole city last year had a total of 2,155 lodging facilities registering for construction of “cultural lodging facility” and there were 1,105 lodging facilities recognized as cultural lodging ones.
After one year of implementing the model of “quarter, hamlet without waste”, each quarter, hamlet winning the “quarter, hamlet without waste” title in Thuan An city was given VND20million in bonus. The city’s People’s Committee also continued sorting out 7 quarters of 6 wards to realize the new model “quarter, hamlet without waste”; recognized Lai Thieu, Hung Dinh and Vinh Phu as wards meeting civilized urban standards for two years from 2018 to 2019 with VND50million in bonus for each.
Di An city is also now home to 4 out of 7 wards meeting civilized urban standards. They include Tan Binh, An Binh, Binh Thang and Di An.
