“Waste management for sustainable rural environment” is the theme of this year’s “Clean up the world” campaign. In response to the campaign, Binh Duong has continued calling for the whole society to protect the environment by practical actions.
“Journey to the nature” is one of the province’s communication programs in response to this year’s “Clean up the world” campaign. The program is jointly organized by provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DoNRE) and Lai Thieu primary school by the end of September.

Binh Duong’s youths make environmental hygiene
The program is expected to take place very animatedly with around 700 participants, comprising of 650 pupils of the school and 30 volunteers. It features a variety of significant activities on environmental protection.
Provincial DoNRE will also organize many activities in response to the campaign in districts, towns and TDM city. Accordingly, from 18 to late September, they will make law dissemination in order to raise the community’s capacity of monitoring and criticism for environmental protection activities; launch a movement of “The entire people take part in environmental protection”; collect waste, dredge ditches, plant and tend green trees in public places…
They will also make parades on environmental protection; organize contests learning about the environment; boost propaganda, raising public awareness of environmental protection; carry out supervision and investigation of facilities that have high risk of causing environmental pollution and those violating regulations on environmental protection.
Moreover, they will continue mobilizing and encouraging locals to use environmentally friendly products; brace up businesses and locals to take part in socialization of environmental protection, aiming to raise their awareness of the importance of environmental protection and mobilize locals to respond to environmental protection activities during the 2017 “Clean up the World” campaign.
It is known that the “Clean up the World” campaign was first initiated by Australia in 1993 and is launched annually across the world by the UN’s Environment Program on the third week of every September. This is an annual international environmental event, absorbing the participation of hundreds of millions of people and more than 120 countries in the world.
