Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee, on June 1, grandly held a ceremony at Hoi Khanh pagoda to celebrate Lord Buddha’s 2,559th birthday.
Attending the ceremony were Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, leaders of sectors, mass organizations together with Buddhist dignitaries, nuns, monks and followers in the province.

At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Hue Thong, Head of provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee delivered a message of the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha (VBS) Patriarch with the wish of peace, prosperity and happiness.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Mr.Liem sent congratulation to Buddhist dignitaries, nuns, monks and followers on the occasion of the 2015 Buddha’s birthday season. He acknowledged contributions by the Buddhist community to social charity activities with more than VND10bln annually spent on helping needy people, contributing to stabilizing the local social welfare.
The organizers also offered incense, released balloons and pigeons to pray for peace and prosperity while presenting 600 gifts to the local poor households.
