On March 31, a delegation of Committee for Ethnic Minority led by Giang Seo Phu, Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority paid a working session with the provincial leaders on ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policy in the province. Tran Van Nam, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and leaders of some departments, agencies received and worked with the delegation.
At the working session, Tran Van Nam briefed the delegation on local socio-economic development. Accordingly, Binh Duong always pays much attention to social welfare, especially ethnic minority groups. The entire province now has 20 ethnic minority groups with more than 17,000 people, accounting for 1% of population. Over the past years, the local party committee and administration constantly invest in infrastructure facilities, diversify forms of agricultural promotion, capital support, job placement, traditional value preservation and promotion and more.
Until now, life of local ethnic minority groups has been stabilized, contributing gradually to the local common achievements.
Addressing the working session, Giang Seo Phu highly appreciated Binh Duong’s effort in taking care of ethnic minority groups and asked local administration to continue to promote and focus further on ethnic work and implement ethnic policy to timely grasp their aspiration, contributing to reinforce the national great unity bloc.
