Sharing difficulties with victims
After granting VND400mil to Thua Thien Hue provincial Fatherland Front Committee in the afternoon of Oct. 27, Binh Duong provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s rescue delegation on Oct. 28 paid a gift visit to the Storm No.-hit victims in Huong Phong commune, Huong Tra town, Thua Thien Hue province.
In the past Storm No.11, the entire province of Thua Thien Hue had 5 dead people, 15 injured people, 250 collapsed houses, 20,000 flooded homes with the total loss of VND620bil. Of these, Huong Phong commune was one of the localities suffering the heaviest losses. As of Oct. 28, some houses in the commune remained being flooded.
Receiving gifts from the rescue delegation, Mrs. Tran Thi Quyen in Huong Phong commune said in tears “Despite separation, Binh Duong province’s rescue delegation comes with us timely to help us overcome material and spiritual pains. The assistance is a great driving force for us to overcome difficulties”.
Regarding the delegation’s assistance, Nguyen Van Chinh, vice chairman of Thua Thien Hue provincial Fatherland Front Committee said “After the Storm No.10 and No.11, Thua Thien Hue province has received assistance and care from the Government, central ministers and agencies and localities. We want to extend many thanks to Binh Duong provincial rescue delegation members. And, we are very moved for your sympathy and sharing”.
Gratitude exists forever
As such, after 6 days (Oct. 23-28) in the central region, the provincial rescue delegation completed a rescue roadmap via 4 provinces and cities such as Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue. The delegation supported VND1.8bil to 4 localities and paid direct gift visits to 208 the Storm No.11-hit households.
“Through the Storm No.10 and No.11, in response to Binh Duong provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s rescue appeal, our company mobilized every cadre, employee to spend salary of one labor day to help the flooding-hit victims”, Dao Van Lai, vice general director of Binh Duong Material and Building Company Ltd. shared.
The Storm No.11 left many losses for people in the central provinces, Binh Duong provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s rescue delegation came to the central region-based victims with the hope of sharing difficulties with them. Nguyen Tan Loc, vice chairman of Binh Duong provincial Fatherland Front Committee said after the two storms, Binh Duong provincial administration held many rescue visits to provinces such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue to help the storm-hit victims.
As statistics, the Storm No.11 killed 13, injured 143, collapsed 712 houses, destroyed thousands of ha of paddy fields, vegetables and industrial trees as well as many traffic and irrigation works and schools with the total loss of around VND2,300bil.
