In 2017, Thanh Hoi commune in Tan Uyen town had a total of 7 households winning the “green, clean, nice and light” household title. Tran Kim Quan, Chairman of Thanh Hoi communal People’s Committee said that with concrete and practical criteria, the emulation movement has received enthusiastic response from people from all strata. Many households have so far spent big money on upgrading their houses. Some households have also been honored and become one of role-models for others to study and follow.
He added that the emulation movement has contributed to improving public awareness in new rural construction, strengthening solidarity among people, creating green, clean, nice rural areas in line with the commune’s ecological economic development orientation.
Quality of criteria improved
The emulation movement on “Building new rural households with green, clean, nice and light criteria” has been launched by Tan Uyen town since 2016 towards the goals of improving the quality of new rural criteria, the role of people in new rural construction, keeping environmental hygiene…, contributing to well perfecting the national target program on new rural construction, the town’s project on enhancing new rural criteria for the period of 2016-2020.
The town’s Bach Dang and Thanh Hoi communes were selected to implement the emulation movement. After one year-implementation, the emulation movement received enthusiastic response from the local people. There were 93.29% and 81.2% of households in Bach Dang and Thanh Hoi communes registering to take part in the emulation movement, respectively.
As a result, the Emulation and Selection Councils of Bach Dang, Thanh Hoi communes and Tan Uyen town last year suggested the town’s People’s Committee to recognize, commend and reward 30 “green, clean, nice, light” new rural households. According to the town’s People’s Committee, the emulation movement will continue being promoted in 2018 with the quality of criteria improved, contributing to well realizing the national target program on new rural construction towards a civilized, modern and sustainable city…
