Green Economy: Does it include YOU?

For a civilized and urban area

According to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), a green economy is as an economic environment that achieves low carbon emissions, resource efficiency and at the same time is socially inclusive.  

In Vietnam, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment urged ministries, departments, central associations, people's committees of provinces and cities to direct their agencies, enterprises to organize communication campaigns on environmental protection; encourage to use environmentally friendly and less energy consumption products; limit use of fuel generating much polluted waste…

In Binh Duong, in response to the World Environment Day and International Year of Sustainable Energy 2012, the provincial People’s Committee just issued a Plan 865/KH-UBND and steered agencies at all levels to maintain promulgation activities and improve awareness on environmental protection in a bid to eye a civilized and modern Binh Duong city.

In addition, the province has spurred promulgation activities to raise business and community’s awareness to set out significant deeds in keeping environmental hygiene, protecting and using natural resources properly.

Many plentiful activities

The provincial department of Environment and Natural Resources said that meeting to salute the World Environment Day 2012 will include 2 parts of ceremony and festivity.

The festivity themed “Binh Duong Green Festival” was held in the past weekend with many plentiful activities. Meanwhile, the ceremony will be held at Ecolakes urban area in Ben Cat district on June 3. Expectedly, the ceremony will attract 2,500 participants. At the ceremony, the organizing board will grant dustbins to self-control teams of environmental protection at communes, wards and townships.

Especially, Ben Cat district will plant green trees at the Ecolakes urban area. Aside from telecommunication assistance, many businesses will distribute 4,000 paper fans and 3,000 shirts, hats for thousands of participants.
