Responding to the movement of "For the poor - Leaving no one behind", the campaign to take care of and help the poor in Tan Uyen town, over the past time, has always received the attention of direction and coordination as well as close cooperation of all levels of CPV committees, authorities, departments and mass organizations. Joy in new homes

After more than 3 months of living in a spacious new house built by the Military Medical Academy under the Ministry of National Defense and the local authority, the family of Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan in Hoa Nhut neighborhood of Tan Vinh Hiep ward has been still overjoyed. Loan is living a very harsh situation.

During the recent COVID-19 epidemic, she was about to give birth and was taken to the hospital for monitoring and care. Loan's husband, after taking care of his wife, was unfortunately infected by COVID-19 and died. The epidemic passed, but the loss and pain weighed heavily on the young mother. Therefore, when there was a plan to present the charitable house of the Military Medical Academy, the local authority prioritized to help the poor mother and her daughter. Financed by the support fund of VND 80 million of the Military Medical Academy, the local authority has mobilized benefactors to donate more to build a new house for Loan on an area of ​​100 square meters.

Before everyone's care for her, Loan was touched and said: "My family expresses our deep gratitude to the leadership of the Military Medical Academy, the sharing and support of local authorities at all levels in the process through the time. This will be the motivation for me to work and settle down.”

In his year's rainy season, Nguyen Thi Lanh's family at Quarter 1 of Vinh Tan ward no longer has to live in fear as they now have a new house built this October. Lanh said: “The old house I built a few decades ago was just temporary and seriously degraded. Every time it rains hard, water gushed through cracks in the walls, and the roof had holes in it, which spilled the house. Earlier this year, the staff of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee in the ward get here to have a look and called upon benefactors to help my family with VND 80 million to build a house. Thanks to that, my family has more money to rebuild the house. In this year's rainy season, my whole family is comfortable living in this solid house."

Those are just two of many families in difficult circumstances who were helped by the departments and unions of Tan Uyen town in a timely manner to enable them to stabilize their lives. Over the past time, the work of caring for the poor in Tan Uyen town has been actively responded by individuals and organizations with many practical activities among political and social organizations from the town to the grassroots with profound humanitarian significance, creating a high consensus in society. The done works were namely th new construction and house repair for poor households, the scholarships for children of poor households, the care-taking of people with meritorious services to the nation, the humanitarian month 2022 and the humanitarian fair given to the poor.

The effective "Fund for the Poor"

From the beginning of the year, the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Tan Uyen town have continued to organize activities to take care of the poor by calling on agencies, businesses and benefactors to donate to the "Fund for the poor." The attention of the whole political system, and the consensus of active response of all classes of people, agencies and businesses have made the "Fund for the poor" of Tan Uyen town increasingly effective.

In 2022, the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee in Tan Uyen town gave away 7,000kg of rice to the people at the cost of 91 VND million, repaired 8 houses and built a new house at the cost of VND 500 million dong. It has also made gift-giving visits to assist people living in unexpected hardship while providing study aid to hundreds of poor households with studious students.

The town's Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee also carried out many other social security activities and programs like the coordination of 27 sessions of "VND 0 Market Fair" to offer free exchange vouchers for people in hardship. Benefactors have been called upon to visit and give gifts of relief to 8,735 cases at a total budget of VND 2.6 billion. They have also been mobilized to cover health insurance for people in difficult circumstances at a total cost of more than VND 770 million.

Le Thi Ut - Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee in Tan Uyen town, said that not only in the peak month for the poor, Tan Uyen town always identified taking care of the poor as an important and regular task in the long term. On the basis of the achieved results, the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of the town, in the coming time, will continue to promote activities to donate ti the "Fund for the poor" in order to get all resources to help construct and repair houses that relieve the poor and people in harsh circumstances. Along with that, the town's Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee will actively develop plans, review, and classify poor households and implement the contents of taking care of the poor according to the regulations on management and use of the funds to help the poor each year and in steps to stabilize life so that no one is left behind.

Responding to the movement of "For the poor - Leaving no one behind", recently, the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Uyen town held a ceremony to launch the Peak Month for the Poor to receive more than VND 359 million of cash and necessities valued at VND 106 million. The Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committees at commune and ward levels have mobilized nearly VND 160 million to the funding.
