The Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the National Steering Committee for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long Ha Noi, Nguyen Sinh Hung, chaired a conference to review the ongoing preparations for the millennium anniversary in Hanoi on May 25.
The conference concentrated on a draft plan of meetings and parades in Ba Dinh Square on October 10 and a cultural programme titled ‘Thang Long-Hanoi, city of the ascending dragon’ at the My Dinh National Stadium on the same day.
The four entrances to the cultural and programme will feature four different themes, namely Vietnam’s seas and islands, the different cultural identities of the Northern region, the Central Highlands and the Southern region. The programme will last for nearly 2 hours and depict the pre-Thang Long-Hanoi era of 1000 years ago.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Hung urged every ministry, department and province to work together to make the millennial anniversary celebrations a success.
