Happy atmosphere of Mid-Autumn Festival

The jubilant atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most popular cultural traditions in Vietnam, prevails across the country.

*** On September 11, the Hanoi Association for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control presented 200 gifts to children infected with HIV on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

From now until the end of this year, the association will continue organizing cultural exchanges to promote mutual understanding among its members, and run courses to increase the capacity of its operations.

It also aims to intensify communication about HIV/AIDS prevention and control, and expand relations with international organizations in Vietnam involved in the field to help its members improve their efficiency.

*** Thousands of children welcomed the Mid-Autumn Festival at a party hosted by trade unions at My Phuoc 2 industrial park, in collaboration with the Becamex IDC Company, on September 10 in the southern province of Binh Duong.

The full moon festival created an enjoyable and healthy playground for workers’ children and contributed to improving the spiritual life of workers at the industrial park.

Becamex IDC Company donated VND700 million for gifts and colourful lanterns so the children could enjoy a fun-filled festival.

The festival featured entertaining lion and dragon dances and art performances, as well as a children’s fashion show.

*** Mid-Autumn Festival shopping is booming in the mountainous northern province of Lao Cai. In Lao Cai city, many kinds of moon cakes from famous confectioners such as Kinh Do, Huu Nghi and Bibica are being sold, in addition to locally made cakes and those imported from China, which sell for VND10,000-25,000 a box.

The moon cake market in the mountainous districts of Muong Khuong, Bat Xat, Bac Ha and Si Ma Cai is as thriving as those in major cities and townships.

According to the Lao Cai province Medical Preventive Centre that inspects imported cakes, the quality and patterns of locally-made cakes have improved significantly, meeting the standards for food hygiene and safety, and traceable origins.
