Provincial health sector has a growth in many fields compared with previous years. Health facilities in the province have invested in equipment, applied scientific technical advancements, and personnel training to meet job requirements medical needs of the people.

Doctor (Dr.) Van Quang Tan, Director of Provincial General Hospital, said, implementing directions and 1816 project, Provincial General Hospital received annually technical transfer from upper-level hospitals to improve healthcare quality. Namely, in the first 6 months, the hospital received the endoscopic surgery technique of percutaneous kidney stone removal transferred by HCMC University Medical Center; bronchoscopy technique transferred by HCMC Binh Dan Hospital; hemodialysis and cancer chemotherapy transferred by HCMC Hospital 115; spinal disc herniation surgical technique by HCMC Traumatology & Orthopaedic Hospital…
One modern technique successfully applied by Provincial General Hospital was coronary interventions. 2 years ago, cardiology ward Provincial General Hospital treated common cardiovascular diseases; but now the ward applies the coronary intervention treatment, saving life of hundreds of critical patients as well as hospital fees, travel costs, time… of patients.
Reproductive Health Center has also recently renovated inpatient and outpatient wards. Dr. Pham Ngoc Thuy, Director of the center said, the center had paid much attention to improving the quality of reproductive health services. Focusing on human resource training
Binh Duong is one leading province in terms of preferential policies, human resource attraction, health socialization. Therefore, non-public healthcare network has been developed, joined hand with public health system to take care of people's health. However, according to Dr. Luc Duy Lac, Director of Department of Health, human resource of provincial health sector is insufficient, especially medical staff with high qualifications.
To solve the human resource problem, the province annually places training orders at HCMC Medical University, Pham Ngoc Thach University, Can Tho University. During 5 years (from 2009-2014), the province sent 94 persons for regular training including 81 doctors, 7 pharmacists, 6 medical bachelors. In addition, from 2011 to 2014, the province sent 244 persons, including 148 doctors, 25 pharmacists, 64 medical bachelors to further education.
Implementing the project “Ensuring the health workforce of Binh Duong province in the 2011-2015 towards 2020” approved by provincial People's Committee, in 2015, the health sector ordered places training orders for 235 persons at HCMC Medical University; signed responsibility contracts with 21 admitted students; cooperated with Institute of Public Health, HCMC Medical University to open training courses of hospital management for 65 officials…
The sector also sent some officials for studying abroad. In spite of difficulties, provincial medical staff have received attention and favorable conditions for their development. As a result, the quality of health care services in the province has gradually been improved, better met people’s needs.
