Environmental pollution is a major factor in reducing human life expectancy. Numerous diseases stem from environmental pollution. According to statistics, around 9 million people worldwide die each year, due to environmental pollution. In Vietnam alone, approximately 60,000 deaths are linked to this issue every year. As an industrial hub of the country, Binh Duong clearly recognizes the vital importance of a clean environment for public health and has persistently implemented a wide range of comprehensive solutions to provide residents with a healthier living environment.
Binh Duong once faced severe environmental pollution, due to rapid industrial growth. Issues such as water and air pollution, improper waste discharge occurred frequently, causing public outcry and becoming a major concern among residents. Environmental pollution not only affected urban areas and industrial zones, but also spread to several rural localities. In many voter meetings, citizens urged the province to quickly identify the causes and take decisive actions to thoroughly resolve the issue.
Being aware of the importance of a clean environment for public health, provincial leaders and relevant departments have proposed and consistently implemented solutions. One key measure to ensure a clean environment in urban and industrial areas has been Binh Duong’s firm stance against outdated technologies. The province has given priority to attracting high-tech, clean production projects that minimize water and air pollution during operations and gradually move towards green manufacturing. Additionally, Binh Duong has planned support for relocating businesses and manufacturing facilities from residential areas into industrial parks and compounds.
In rural areas, alongside movements and campaigns encouraging public participation in environmental protection, Binh Duong has promoted clean and organic agricultural production, limited the overuse of chemical fertilizer and pesticide that pollute the soil. In response to environmental protection campaigns, localities have called on people to take practical actions such as collecting waste, disposing garbage properly, correctly handling fertilizer and pesticide packaging. Many environmental protection movements have received enthusiastic public support, transforming the landscape and creating a brighter, greener, cleaner and more beautiful rural environment.
In addition to the above measures, Binh Duong has also made strong investment in environmental projects such as surface water monitoring stations, wastewater treatment facilities and the purchase of waste collection and treatment equipment. A clear example of the province’s commitment to environmental protection is the 100-hectare waste treatment complex equipped with modern technologies and machinery, located in Ben Cat city’s Chanh Phu Hoa ward. Thanks to the consistent implementation of comprehensive solutions, environmental pollution in Binh Duong has been significantly curbed. Serious pollution is no longer occurring and residents no longer frequently complain about environmental issues as they once did.
