Heart-warming sentiments on free spring trains

Many workers were overcome with emotion and burst into tears as they returned home to celebrate Tet on the free "Trade Union Train - Spring 2025". For them, this initiative represents the timely support and encouragement from Binh Duong province, allowing union members and workers who are far from home to reunite with their families in various hometowns across the provinces and cities of the country.

Happy feelings

On the day she was finally able to board the train to reunite with her family, Tran Thi Tuyet, a 41-year-old worker from Ha Tinh, could not hold back her tears. “I have two children. For the past three years since moving to Binh Duong for work, I have never been able to visit them. My income only covers my living expenses, and train and bus tickets during Tet are too expensive. During these three years away from home, I missed my children so much; I could only see them through video call. Today, receiving a free train ticket from the union to go home has made me incredibly moved and grateful to Trade Union at all levels in Binh Duong province for helping me reunite with my family for Tet,” she said, her voice filled with emotion.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Standing Member, Head of the Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Commission, congratulates workers returning home to celebrate Tet on the "Union Train - Spring 2025".

Worker Le Thi Binh, who comes from Nghe An, shared her emotions, explaining that due to difficult circumstances, she has not been able to return home for Tet for 12 consecutive years. "My monthly income is about 8 million VND, which is just enough to cover my expenses and support my children's education. I was so happy that I cried when I received the train ticket given by the union. I haven't told my family in the countryside yet; I want it to be a surprise for them all. I would like to thank Trade Union for making it possible for me to return home and reunite with my family," Binh expressed.

Many workers conveyed their deep gratitude to the provincial leaders and the Binh Duong Provincial Trade Union for their special attention and support, which included gifts and organized activities over the past period. After celebrating Tet with their families, the workers promised to return to Binh Duong soon and work with the highest sense of responsibility. They are committed to improving their own lives, as well as their families' lives, while also contributing to the development of their businesses and Binh Duong province.

Binh Duong considers workers as a valuable resource

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Provincial Party Standing Member, Head of the Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Committee, acknowledged that many recent activities by the Binh Duong Trade Union have been highly effective. The initiative "Union Train - Spring 2025" exemplifies profound humanity by helping workers enjoy a joyful, warm, and meaningful spring with their families.

Mr. Nhan noted that in recent years, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have focused on directing agencies, departments, and unions, as well as mobilizing businesses to create favorable conditions for workers. This includes implementing policies related to housing, healthcare, culture, education, employment, and other essential services and needs. As a result, workers feel secure in their work and production. Many have chosen Binh Duong as their second home to live and work. The province consistently views all workers who are away from home as part of the loving community of Binh Duong.

Leaders of Binh Duong Provincial Labor Federation visited union members before they boarded the train to return home for Tet on the "Union Train - Spring 2025"

During this Lunar New Year, the provincial budget supported nearly 45,000 workers having difficulty with a total cost of 44 billion 875 million VND. It is known that these days, the provincial Trade Union has been organizing many practical activities to take care of workers with the motto "All union members and workers have happy Tet". To celebrate Tet this year, the Provincial Labor Federation continues to organize spring trains, flights, and buses to bring union members home for Tet holidays.

Along with 450 round-trip train tickets and 103 plane tickets supported by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Labor Federation presented 1,000 train tickets and nearly 2,000 bus tickets. It is expected that this year, on the occasion of Tet, all levels of trade unions in the province will take care of Tet for union members and workers with a total budget of more than 272 billion VND; Provincial Labor Federation and all levels of trade unions will simultaneously organize programs "Tet Reunion", "Union Tet Market" for workers and "Loving Tet" program for orphans due to the Covid-19 pandemic, children of workers having difficult circumstances...

These practical activities have clearly demonstrated a profound sense of humanity, helping workers experience a joyful, warm, and meaningful spring. Moreover, trade unions at all levels collaborated with businesses to provide tens of thousands of bus tickets for union members and workers in difficult situations, allowing them to return home for Tet. They also organized numerous fun and entertaining activities, intimate parties, year-end celebrations, and New Year gatherings, distributing hundreds of thousands of Tet gifts to workers. All of these initiatives aim to ensure that everyone is cared for during the traditional New Year, in line with the policy of “no one is left behind” and “no worker is left without a New Year.”

In the long term, based on the socio-economic development practices of the province, Binh Duong will focus on enhancing policies such as continuing to mobilize resources and investing in the construction of more social housing in areas with a significant number of workers. Additionally, there will be increased investment in medical and educational facilities to ensure the best quality of life for workers, particularly those who are far from home, as well as for local residents.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan encouraged the workers: “After Tet, we are delighted to welcome you back to Binh Duong so that we can work together, engage in production, and collaborate to build a better life in our friendly and beloved homeland of Binh Duong.”
