Heart-warming VND 0 minimarts

Sharing difficulties with the people, the local Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee and authorities at all levels have called on the entire society, benefactors and businesses to join hands and contribute to help people in the blockade and quarantine areas in many forms, typical of which is a VND 0 minimart in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward, Tan Uyen town.

We are present at the epidemic center in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward of Tan Uyen town where a model of a VND 0 minimart for the poor and disadvantaged people is held at Tan Phuoc Khanh High School. The minimart has served people from 8:00 to 17:00 hours on July 2, 3 and 4 and limited the number of people to buy to ensure the distance according to the regulations on prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The VND 0 minimart has served 450 disadvantaged people in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward. They are given vouchers worth VND 200,000 each. The supermarket has about 60 essential items such as rice, noodles, eggs, cooking oil, spices, vegetables, washing powder, hand sanitizer etc, and many other fresh foods. There are necessities of not high value, but all people expressed their joy at being cared for and helped. Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc, living in Binh Hoa II neighborhood, was happy to share that such gifts mean a lot to people who were facing difficulties due to the epidemic like her as they helped them stabilize their lives and soon overcome the hard time.

It is known that the entire funding of the program was supported by Phu Nhuan Jewelry Company (PNJ) in the Southeast region. This was also the first activity in the Vietnamese bracelet program that PNJ was implementing to share difficulties with the community to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Le Thanh Tu, representative of PNJ Southeast Branch, said: “We want to share some of the difficulties and empower people in the medical quarantine area to overcome the difficult time and to well perform the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic."
