High-quality Young Workforce’s Festival - Career opportunities for graduates

After graduation, students always wish to find suitable jobs in order to prove themselves and contribute to building the homeland. Understanding their aspirations, Provincial Students’ Association held the 3rd High-quality Young Workforce’s Festival 2015. At the event, students were enabled to access employment opportunities…

"Hunting" for jobs

The festival themed “Binh Duong Students Being Confident to Integrate” with the participation of 10 units and businesses in many fields offered diverse employment opportunities for graduates. Students of colleges, universities in the province were confident to find information, have interviews with businesses at festival’s booths. Coming to the festival, Doan Thi Hoa, senior student of Binh Duong Medical College, had a well-prepared resume. After learn about businesses, she decided to come to the booth of Lai Thieu Cattle-Feed Company. She said, she studied pharmacy, thus a tester would be an appropriate job to her.

Students sought employment opportunities at business’s booth

After graduation, finding a job corresponding to their major is a blessing to them. But in fact, many graduates do not have a dream job, because they have not understood employer’s needs. Joining the festival, they could have direct interviews with employers, meet recruiting specialists. Hoang The Vinh is a freshman of Binh Duong University, but he wants to find a part-time job to pay off tuitions and gain experiences for himself. He said: “To prepare for the future, I will find a job right now. I will improve my teamwork skills, soft skills to satisfy job requirements and prove myself”.

Being ready for integration

During the integration process, enterprises need high-quality human resources. To meet this requirement, students must have not only professional knowledge but also soft skills, communication skills, teamwork skills… to get ready to work immediately. Nguyen Ngoc Huong, student of Thu Dau Mot University, said she studied at English faculty but also learned more Chinese and soft skills. Therefore, she had interviews at the festival and hoped to get positive feedbacks from businesses.

Pham Thi Minh Trang, HR Director of Clean & Move Company, said many students were very honest, they equipped themselves with necessary skills; she also advised them to find jobs at small and medium companies to be able to work at different positions and gain more experiences.

Most businesses want to recruit experienced candidates, but still give opportunities to graduates to prove their competence. It is shared by Tran Ngoc Diep, HR official of Tan Cang Binh Duong Logistics Company. According to Ms. Diep, students were very dynamic, self-confident, which would be a plus for them when interviewing for a job.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, President of provincial Students’ Association:

The 3rd High-quality Young Workforce’s Festival 2015 comprised activities, like: visiting production activities at 5 enterprises in the province, seminar themed “Being confident to find jobs”, and career festival. At the festival, students experienced and applied learned knowledge and skills. In addition, students had direct interviews with businesses at booths.
