Get ready for high school graduation exam
In 2022, the Provincial Department of Education and Training under the 44th Exam Board will organize 28 testing sites (including 2 backup sites), including 19 testing sites located in high schools and 9 testing sites located in junior high schools. The high school graduation exam this year is set to take place from July 6 to 9, of which July 9 will be the backup exam day. At this year's high school graduation exam, the province had 12,842 candidates that registered to sit this exam, of which 38 students registering only for graduation evaluation, 12,411 students registering for graduation and entrance examinations, 393 students registering only for the entrance exam.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang, Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training, said that after inspection, up to this time, material facilities of testing sites are relatively fully equipped, such as: Tables and chairs, electricity, water, fans...; only 1 testing site needs to be equipped with surveillance cameras and 3 testing sites need areas to keep candidate’s belongings outside exam rooms. The department will continue to conduct professional inspections as well as facilities at exam boards before the exam to ensure eligibility in all aspects. The provincial education sector has basically completed the preparation for the high school graduation exam to create the most favorable conditions for students to take the exam.
The Department of Education and Training developed an exam plan and is coordinating with departments, branches and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to organize the high school graduation exam 2022; arrange testing sites that ensure favorable candidates and officials to do exam works. The department also collaborated with relevant departments and units to ensure traffic safety, security and order, smooth travel, provide accommodation, healthcare, hygiene and food safety for officials at testing sites. In addition, the Department of Education and Training also developed a plan to mobilize educational officials and teachers to participate in invigilation, marking and checking; provided professional training for officials and teachers.
Proactive, flexible
According to Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee of the provincial high school graduation exam 2022, so as not to be passive in all situations, education branch must coordinate with departments and localities to prepare all options, contingency scenarios in all stages of the exam organization so that the exam could take place absolutely safely, seriously, avoid errors; comply with the Government's regulations but must be proactive and flexible according to the actual situation in the province; do not be passive in any situation in order not to affect candidates and parents.
It is an important exam that takes place in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, hence in addition to professional tasks, the prevention and control of covid-19 and ensuring the safety of candidates is also of special concern. Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Health, said that the department established medical teams to serve at testing and marking sites; guarantee food safety and hygiene during the exam; to give timely first aid to cases of unusual illness, especially ensuring safety and supporting the prevention and control of Covid-19 at testing sites. In case there is a F0 candidate, medical teams will have a thorough health care plan for the candidate, monitor his medical condition, arrange separate areas for the candidate to complete the exam in the best way.
In addition, in order for the exam to take place successfully, the Department of Education and Training directed high schools to actively review knowledge for students; at the same time, the department also regularly checks the implementation of teaching and reviewing plan for students to master knowledge and practice exam skills. In order to ensure the best quality of high school graduation exams 2022, the Department of Education and Training held a workshop "Improving the quality of high school graduation exams 2022" in order for teachers to share their experience in teaching, reviewing knowledge as well as agreeing on method and content to help students achieve the best results in the exam.
