Faced with a deep economic crisis, CPV decided to carry out a comprehensive renovation to help the country escape stagnation and underdevelopment in 1986. Together with the whole country, with the aspiration to help the province escape poverty and rise up, Party Committee of Song Be province, now Binh Duong province, promptly grasped the spirit of renovation to lead the people to quickly implement the policies and guidelines set forth by the CPV. With determination, solidarity, dynamism, creativity and vision, breakthrough thinking, Binh Duong has chosen the right ways to soon become a successful locality in the country's renovation.
Breakthrough thinking and the right choice
To carry out the renovation process with the whole country, the Party Committee of Song Be - Binh Duong province has advocated socio-economic development on the basis of fully exploiting advantages, overcoming difficulties and challenges; at the same time selecting and identifying strategic breakthroughs to soon bring the province up. The province has formed many unique breakthrough mechanisms and policies to mobilize all resources to invest in infrastructure development to serve the industrialization and modernization process. In particular, the province focuses on developing traffic infrastructure, infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters; at the same time, making efforts to perfect the open investment environment to attract domestic and foreign investors. Industrial parks such as Binh Duong, Vietnam - Singapore, Song Than among others were established one after another and quickly became reliable addresses for domestic and foreign investors and enterprises.
Speaking at the conference to summarize the Project "Development model of Binh Duong province in the process of national innovation and vision, orientation to 2050", orientation to build documents for the 12th Binh Duong provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030" in early October 2024, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, emphasized that from the results after 40 years of innovation with the country, Binh Duong will draw lessons, strive to become a centrally-run city by 2030; become a center of innovation, pioneering, dynamic, creating development momentum not only for the province but also for the whole Southeast region and the whole country. |
Through each congress term, the provincial Party Committee has identified appropriate policies for the province to maintain its source of development more and more rapidly. If the 6th provincial Party Congress (1997) identified industrial development as the focus, implemented through a rapid transition from mass investment attraction and general industrial development, then at the 7th provincial Party Congress (2001) and 8th provincial Party Congress (2005), the province identified a shift to selective investment attraction, encouraging and prioritizing the development of clean and quality industry. In particular, at the 9th provincial Party Congress (2010), the province identified an important strategic turning point, which is restructuring the industrial sector towards improving productivity, efficiency and competitiveness. At the following congresses (the 10th and 11th Congresses), the province identified improving growth quality, increasing the scale of the economy, ensuring sustainable development and reasonable growth; Focus on developing high-quality service industries associated with industrial and urban development in a civilized and modern direction.
It can be affirmed that the correct choice in determining development goals through the terms of the provincial Party Congress has brought the province many important achievements, contributing with the whole country to successfully carry out the national renewal initiated and led by our Party.
Binh Duong inspiration
Inheriting and promoting the initial foundations of Song Be province, after nearly 40 years of keeping pace with the Party's policy of comprehensive national renovation and 28 years of construction and development, Binh Duong has achieved quite comprehensive and outstanding achievements, rising to become one of the dynamic provinces, leading the country in many fields of socio-economic development. Binh Duong has become one of the growth poles, innovation centers, creative startups of the Southeast region, the driving force in the development quadrangle of the Southern Key Economic Zone.
In 2020-2025 term, despite facing many difficulties and challenges due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and armed conflicts in the world as well as the global economic downturn, the Party Committee, government, people and business community in the province have promoted the spirit of solidarity, high determination, and made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieve the set goals and tasks. Currently, Binh Duong is the second province in attracting foreign investment capital, the fifth in state budget revenue, and the third in economic scale in the country after Ho Chi Minh city and Ha Noi. |
Binh Duong is considered a "good land for birds to nest", a destination for domestic and foreign enterprises, a gathering place for strategic investors, a land of strong attraction and attraction for skilled human resources, with a spirit of innovation and creativity with the desire to start a business, get rich and also for hard-working, diligent workers. The economic growth rate of the province is always maintained at a high level compared to the national average. The development miracles in 40 years of national renovation and 28 years of construction and development of Binh Duong province are also a driving force and a great source of inspiration, arousing pride and aspiration for development not only in Binh Duong people but also for people across the country about the province's breakthrough thinking, unique models and creative ways of doing things in the process of comprehensively and synchronously promoting the renovation process.
