Hoa Nghiem Pagoda located at Quarter 4 of Dau Tieng Townlet, Dau Tieng District was used to be not only a location of spiritual activities of local people but also a undercover liasion for officers in two resistance wars against the French Colony and US Army.

Hoa Nghiem Pagoda is entitled as a cultural and historical remain Local people call Hoa Nghiem Pagoda the familiar name of Ba Lung Monk Pagoda named under Ba Lung Monk who was identified as Pham Kim Dung from Ninh Binh Province.In 1930s, the monk migrated to Binh Duong Province and worked as rubber tree taper for local plantations.Keeping in mind of the wish to establish a location for local people to practice Buddhism, he saved his time to clear up the land for the construction of the pagoda.His dream was followed and supported by plantation workers. By January 15, 1940, the pagoda was built by its first bricks in not very special architecture.Under record of Mr. Phan Thanh Dan (under remain and favorite site management board of Binh Duong province), Ba Lung Monk was the one in direct covering up of revolutionists and secret agents in the resistance war against the French colony.Xuan, a revoluntionist in reistance war against the French colony, was helped by Monk Ba Lung to escape the hunt of the enemies. By 1954, Xuan was transferred to the North.Besides, the pagoda was also a place for operation of pioneers against French colony and cache for propaganda leftlets.until resistance war against the US Army, Hoa Nghiem Pagoda was used for revoluntionary activities. Ut Oanh or Huynh Thi Kim Oanh was assigned to direct commanding position of the public to resist the US Army at the pagoda where she coordinated with Monk Ba Lung to call for donation to revolutionary cause including medicines, foods, and clothings.In the same stage, the pagoda became shelter for many key revolutionary officers including Tam Nui, Hai Luong, Ut Lung, Ba Thuong, Ba Xe, Nam Khoa, Tu Cuc, Tu Phu, Ut Day, and so on.Mrs. Huynh Thi Kim Oanh, former Deputy Secretary of Dau Tieng District Party Committee before 1975,reviewed the time of resistance wars when local people uprose to retrieve peace.Under narration of Nguyen Van Se of security team in direct operation at Hoa Nghiem Pagoda, we would know more about the pagoda once called “Viet Cong hideout”.In 1975, the pagoda was bombed in desperate raids of the enemies practicing the motto of “killing communism in the root”; however, our armed force had claimed glorious victory to bring peace to all.In peace time, Ba Lung pagoda was rebuilt and became the icon of revolutionary activities.May mắn thay, lực lượng chủ lực của quân giải phóng đã kịp di chuyển.
